Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This month of the year has only 28 days, or 29 in a leap year.

Answer: What is February?

Ah yes, what is February? This is the only month of the year that can vary in length. It can mess people up every time the leap year comes around. Regardless, it is always the shortest month of the year.
2. Contrary to popular belief, Washington state is not the northern most state of the contiguous 48 states in America. That distinction actually goes to this state.

Answer: What is Minnesota?

What is Minnesota? is the correct response. Its claim to the "Lake of the Woods" puts the northern most point of Minnesota close to the 50th parallel while Washington state tops out near the 49th parallel. Much thanks to player 'floormatt' and others for pointing out this bit of information to me. Contrary to popular belief, the Northern most tip of Maine does not even reach the 47th parallel. Those weather maps and road maps can be misleading.
3. This company and the "World Wildlife Fund" went to court in 2002 over the rights to trademark the the initials "WWF".

Answer: What was the "World Wrestling Federation"?

The other company was the "World Wrestling Federation". Can you believe that? It is beyond me why two totally different organizations can't share a common abbreviation. Anyway, the "World Wildlife Fund" won the showdown, and the "World Wrestling Federation" was forced to change its name.

They chose "World Wrestling Entertainment," or "WWE". If it had to go one way or the other, though, I'm glad that the "World Wildlife Fund" won out. Despite finding wrestling fairly entertaining, I think our wildlife is far more important...I still don't see why they can't share the initials though, as the logos were completely different and next to impossible to confuse.
4. A prominent political figure of the 1990s, this man allegedly claims credit for founding the internet. Who is...?

Answer: Al Gore

Al Gore was Bill Clinton's Vice President for two terms. He ran for President of the United States in 2000, but, despite winning the popular vote, was defeated by George W. Bush by a slim margin in the electoral college... But I'm sure they are still counting in Florida...Ha Ha.
5. Often confused as being a vegetable, this common fruit can come in many varieties.

Answer: What is a tomato?

The tomato is often mistaken as a vegetable. Actually it is a fruit, though many people will debate this. The tomato can come in many varieties such as Big Boy, Big Girl, Plum, Cherry, Roma and Jetstar, to name a few.
6. Commonly known as the collarbone, this bone of the human skeleton serves to connect the shoulder blades with the breastbone.

Answer: What is the clavicle?

In the world of human anatomy, the collarbone is more properly known as the clavicle. The shoulder blades are called the scapula and the breastbone is called the sternum. If you guessed pelvis, I would recommend you review the ins and outs of the skeletal system.
7. A popular situational comedy of the 1990s, this television show featured characters such as: Jefferson, Peg, Bud, Al, Kelly, and Marcy.

Answer: What is "Married With Children"?

What is "Married With Children"? How did this show last so many seasons? Anybody remember what the family dog's name was? Anybody care?
8. The first of this series of books by J.K. Rowling is subtitled, "________ And the Sorcerer's Stone" in the US. Who is...?

Answer: Harry Potter

These extremely popular books are now being made into feature films. I guess it's all about the mighty dollar...or which ever currency you happen to utilize.
9. A native of New Rochelle, New York, this popular late night television talk show host took over the show after Johnny Carson retired.

Answer: Who is Jay Leno?

Interestingly, David Letterman was being considered to fill the shoes of Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show", but ultimately ended up staying with his own popular show "The Late Show". Jay Leno had always been one of my favorite standup comedians, and I was glad that he took over for Johnny.
10. According to Charlie Brown of the "Peanuts" comic strip by Charles Schulz, this breed of dog comes as a "dime a dozen".

Answer: What is a beagle?

It seems that Charlie Brown doesn't think too highly of his Beagle. I hope you think more highly of this quiz. A: After rating this quiz, there is only one correct thing to do. Q: What is check out other quizzes by Mr Nose? I hope you enjoyed this quiz! --Alex (just kidding :)
