Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

The Cook Islands are a group of fifteen South Pacific islands which together form a self-governing nation. They cover a sea area of around 750,000 square miles and are an "associated state" with New Zealand. They were named in honour of Captain James Cook, who visited them twice, in 1773 and 1777.

The total population at the 2021 census was just under 15,000, around 10,000 of whom live on Rarotonga, which at 26 square miles in size is the largest of the islands. It is the main tourist centre for the group and has an international airport and many hotels. Tourism is the main source of income for the islands as a whole.

Several of the other islands are small coral atolls, not all of which are inhabited. Most have small airstrips, making them accessible by air, but a couple can only be reached by boat.

The other six options are island nations in the Caribbean, and even the smallest has a population larger than the Cook Islands in total.

The largest of the six by some way is Cuba, which is 42,000 square miles in size, with a population of around 11,000,000. Jamaica is around 4,000 square miles in total and has a population of 2,800,000. Slightly smaller is Puerto Rico, at 3,500 square miles, although its population is larger than Jamaica, at around 3,200,000.

The next three are considerably smaller. Dominica is only 290 square miles in size, with a population of some 72,000. Barbados is smaller still (169 square miles), but with a greater number of inhabitants, at around 270,000. Finally, the main island of Grenada is around 130 square miles in size, with a population of some 120,000.
