Answer: Lima

Lima is one of the largest cities in South America with a population of around nine million, making it the largest city by far, as well as the capital, of Peru. The San Francisco Monastery has nothing to do with the city of San Francisco, it is simply the Spanish name for Saint Francis.

The Historic Center of Lima, including the Plaza Mayor is a World Heritage Site because it was where the city was originally founded in 1535, and was very important to European colonization of South America.
5. Before I could even enjoy the Pacific beaches, Waldo was off again, taking me in a chase across South America, all the way to a city on the Atlantic coast. I quickly forgot about the Pacific with all the magnificent beaches that I saw in this city. However, as I got further into the city I became immersed in an enormous crowd of people. There seemed to some sort of party or Carnival going on and it was huge. There must have been nearly half a million people! Everywhere around me I saw people playing soccer and dancing the samba dance. What partying city are Waldo and I in now?

Answer: Rio de Janeiro

The party in Rio de Janeiro was simply the Carnival or Carnaval, which takes place before the beginning of Lent every year. In 2008, more than 500,000 people were recorded as having attended the Carnival in a single day. That is one of the main reasons Rio receives more international visitors than any other city in the Southern hemisphere. Brazil is widely regarded as one of the best soccer/football-playing countries in the world and was chosen to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Interestingly enough, the final match of that tournament was scheduled to be played in Rio de Janeiro's Maracanã stadium.
6. After South America, I followed Waldo northwards into the good ol' USA. We ended up in a city that was instrumental in the founding of the United States. What city, called the Heart of the Continent for its location in the middle of North America, has Waldo brought me to now?

Answer: Winnipeg

The Assiniboine River flows into the Red River at the Forks, and when frozen in winter creates the world's longest skating rink at over nine kilometers long! The entire Red River Valley which includes Winnipeg was first explored by Europeans in the 1730s by French explorers, or voyageurs, which is a major reason why it contains a large population of francophones. Winnipeg is the capital of the Canadian province of Manitoba.
8. Thankfully we were out of the snow soon and into...the rain and wind. Waldo had brought us across the Atlantic to a European city located on an island. Unfortunately we missed out on being able to experience the city's famous New Year's celebration, called Hogmanay, although I'm glad I didn't have to eat any haggis. Answer: Edinburgh

Hogmanay is the Scottish New Year's celebration and the party in Edinburgh is normally the largest, with annually attracts 300,000 visitors. The South Bridge vaults, or Edinburgh vaults were made in the late 18th century, in tunnels below one of the city's bridges.

It is a common tourist attraction as it was used for illegal trade and meetings over 200 years ago. Many people believe that the victims from the infamous Burke and Hare murders were brought into the vaults but this has not been proven.

Answer: Casablanca

In 1942, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman starred in a movie called "Casablanca". Casablanca is the largest city in the country of Morocco with a population of over three million. Located on the Atlantic Ocean, Casablanca is the largest port in Northern Africa and very important to the continent's trade. Medinas are very common in North Africa, they are a walled quarter of a city, with palaces, mosques and monuments.

The streets of a medina are very narrow and maze-like which is why car traffic is not allowed in medinas.
