Answer: Quicksand

Syrtis comes from the Latin for quicksand.
2. I was in Greece one time and there were lots of 'spelaean' creatures there. What were the creatures I had seen?

Answer: Bats

Spelaean means of, or inhabiting a cave...and bats most closely fit that description.

Answer: Joints

Synosteology is the study of joints and comes from three Greek words: 'syn-' meaning together, 'osteon' meaning bone and 'logia' meaning study. Hence, we have the study of bones coming together, or joints.

Sudd is actually a mass of floating weeds and trees that forms an island in the Nile...where wildlife form their home.
