1. When Katniss first came back to District 12, what did she find out about her best friend Gale?

Answer: He had to go work down in the mines for money.

Gale and his family were very poor, just like Katniss's. Both Katniss's and Gale's fathers were killed in a mining accident, and te families had to hunt for game ever since. After the Hunger Games Katniss was in, Gale's family needed extra money because his younger sister was sick.

Answer: Darius and Cray

Gale was being whipped because he was caught selling illegal game to Cray, the Head Peacekeeper. Darius stepped in while the new Head Peacekeeper was whipping Gale, saying that that was enough. He was later turned into an avox who Katniss saw when she went back to the Capitol.

3. Katniss found out that, after she won the Hunger Games, the Capitol felt threatened, so they bombed what place in District 12?

Answer: the Hob

The Capitol felt that Katniss's berry trick was an act of rebellion more than an act of love for Peeta. They bombed the Hob to show her they knew and they took this very seriously.

They discovered that the footage the Capitol first shot to show the destroyed District 13 had a mockingjay wing flutter in the corner of the screen. Katniss and Peeta felt alliances were a bad strategy in the arena because sooner or later they might have to kill one another if they all survived. They also felt they could not trust some of the all-stars, and felt it was better to not ally with anyone else but each other.

Annie was a victor from District 4 that Finnick fell in love with even though after her games she became mentally disturbed. She was drawn for the Quarter Quell, but Mags took her place due to her being young and her condition.
