Answer: Steelsong

Daine meets and talks to Flamewing in the first book before she dies. Moonwind, along with his mate, takes Numair and Daine back to the mortal realms in "In the Realms of the Gods", the fourth book. Skysong is Daine's constant companion for all but "Wild Magic". Skysong actually becomes Daine's companion in "Wild Magic".

Answer: Fighting the Carthaki boats.

Flamewing was an adolescent dragon, which is one reason why her assault on the catapults failed.

Skysong hasn't turned completely white, but she did turn a blue tinged white while she was fending off the wvyrns. Blue is her normal color and gray is her sulking color. Skysong turns rose when she is very angry.

The wall was fire, and I think this symbolizes their ability to breathe fire, and their mastery over flame.
