Valerie Twyler's real name is Mary Cook and she used to be a governess in Athena's Aunt's home. Her house was robbed and she was killed and Valerie, aka Mary, was a suspect. She changed her name and moved to Oxford to work at St. Polycarps. She recognized Athena and killed her to keep her secret from coming out.
