This behaviour eventually proved too much for Enfield and the relationship broke up. Enfield's characters Harry and Lulu from his TV shows are based partly on the antics of Lily and Alfie Allen.

This book by Scary Spice documents her life living in an abusive marriage and her descent, due to her circumstances, into a life of alcohol and cocaine. Refreshingly it also focuses on her escape from the relationship and her triumphant appearances as a judge on TV talent shows.

The book has won many plaudits for the honesty with which Brown documents her life and seeks to inspire women in such a situation to seek aid.

Daltrey was expelled from school at age 15 for a variety of misdemeanours and petty crimes. Mr Kibblewhite, the headmaster that expelled him, told Daltrey that he never amount to anything and this comment provided the catalyst for Daltrey to prove Mr Kibblewhite wrong. Now, of course, Daltrey is one of the most famous rock vocalists on the planet, even if the Who were described by Pete Townshend as, "three geniuses and a singer."

Malala now lives in Birmingham, England, as well as having honorary Canadian citizenship.

"What's It All About?" and "The Elephant To Hollywood" are Caine's earlier autobiographies from 1992 and 2010 respectively. "Blowing the Bloody Doors Off: And Other Lessons in Life", to give the full title, is a companion piece to the first two books, and contains many funny anecdotes and inspiring stories. My favourite, concerning the "don't ever give up" theme, is when Caine recounts standing in a line for unemployment benefits with an equally young and broke Sean Connery.

She was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, an eating disorder and bipolar II, and yet still managed to overcome all this to write a frank, painfully honest book that I hope you will look out for.
