They got swept under the water and thrown onto the beach by a wave. Her dad had died within a year after the incident on the beach, and the dream was a reminder of how she felt safe in her dad's arms.

She woke from the dream to the sound of her step-dad yelling at her mom.

Dru Perry was well-known for her 'Story Behind the Story' series. She wanted to get the story on Liza Barton after the house on Old Mill Lane was vandalized. After she did some snooping, she discovered that Celia Nolan was actually Liza Barton. She told the prosecutor, Jeff MacKingsley, what she had discovered and that she thought that Liza was back to take revenge on those that had hurt her.

After Detective Walsh had been following her around and she realized that they might think that she was a suspect in some of the murders, she talked to her old therapist and asked for his advice. He suggested that she find Benjamin Fletcher, who had been the lawyer that got her acquitted for the murder of her mother and attempted murder of her step-father. Benjamin Fletcher was a very tall, balding man who was already past retirement age and Celia wasn't really fond of him.

She didn't even tell him that she was really Liza Barton, the little girl he had defended many years ago.

He had always believed her step-dad's version of the story until after he got to know her better as an adult and everything was revealed in the investigation of the recent murders.

Alex and Robin had been dating for over three years. They schemed together to take other people's money. Alex had married Celia to try and get all the money that her late husband had left for her and their son Jack. Celia had no idea that the Alex she knew was not the real Alex.

He was really a lawyer, but he was not very successful and the money he had was left over from his last money-making escapade with an elderly lady.

Liza started to remember something that her mother had yelled at Ted the night that she died, and her mother had mentioned Zach. Celia/Liza offered him one hundred thousand dollars if he would go to the police and tell the truth about what had happened to her father.

He had the evidence hidden in his house and the detectives were able to find it, even though he had already been killed.
