Answer: Carl the monkey

Carl the monkey belongs to Susan Stitch - an FTA (Failure to Appear) in 'Fearless Fourteen'. Susan left Carl with Stephanie while she went on her honeymoon. Diesel DOES end up staying with Stephanie in this book but, as per usual, she finds him INSIDE her apartment. Joe doesn't stay with Stephanie at all in this book as he is working like crazy and is babysitting his brother who was kicked out of his house. Randy Briggs doesn't appear in this story at all.

Answer: Gerwulf Grimoire

Gerwulf Grimoire (Wulf) is known for associating with Stephanie's main FTA (Failure to Appear) in 'Plum Spooky', Martin Munch. Eugene Scanlon isn't someone that either Diesel or Stephanie are chasing but was involved with both Munch and Wulf. Gordo Bollo is another of Stephanie's FTAs.

Answer: Christmas

Diesel is always dressed in torn jeans, boots and a grubby shirt but he always manages to smell like cinnamon. This, of course, gives Lula cravings for donuts but for Stephanie, it symbolizes Christmas.

Lula and Stephanie tried to apprehend Denny Guzzi but were shot at in his building. Denny had robbed a store then managed to shoot himself in the foot. He also shot a hole in his front door and took out parts of the wall across the hall from his apartment when he was 'convincing' Lula and Stephanie to leave him alone.

It was during the second shot that Lula and Stephanie dived out of the way and Lula realised that she had broken the spike heel off one of her Via Spiga shoes. This then resulted in a visit to Macy's for a shoe sale.

Answer: Hector Mendez

Hector Mendez was in Stephanie's 'dead' file. She tried to find him "months ago" but never could. She was told he had been shot dead in a "gang thing". Stephanie saw him walk past when she was on a stakeout with Diesel, chased him down, gave the (now customary) knee to the groin, cuffed him, then looked up to see Wulf standing right in front of her.

Grodo Bollo worked at Greenblat Produce sorting fruit and veg. On the first visit to apprehend Bollo, Stephanie was pummeled with tomatoes and on the second visit (with Lula) she ended up getting caught in a food fight between Lula and Gordo. Foods specifically mentioned in the food fight were: apples, eggs, grapefruit and melon. Bananas were never mentioned.

Answer: Helicopter

Diesel organized his pilot 'friend', Boon, to fly the helicopter over the Pine Barrens in search of Wulf and Munch's 'base camp'. He also had a Harley but gave it to Flash (another friend) because he wasn't using it at the time. ATVs were also ridden by Stephanie and Diesel when they were searching the Pine Barrens.

Stephanie met Bennie the retired Easter bunny on one of her searches of the Pine Barrens. He was sitting by his trailer in his bunny suit and, when Stephanie wondered why he was still wearing his suit, Bennie said that it would be a shame to get rid of the bunny suits since he retired, "besides the zipper is stuck on this one". Stephanie met Elmer the fire farter when trying to get away from Wulf and Munch (the first time).

He drove her home to Trenton, stayed for dinner (a spicy lasagna) then farted and burnt a kitchen chair to a crisp. Stephanie met Sasquatch later in the book and, although she heard about the Jersey Devil, never actually met or saw him.

Answer: Gail Scanlon

Gail Scanlon lived in the Pine Barrens because she was a guardian of those who couldn't speak for themselves (such as trees and animals). Stephanie and Lula found her house and twenty monkeys in an indoor habitat all wearing tin helmets with antenna on them. While searching the house, Carl managed to open the lock on the habitat, free all the monkeys, then ran away with them.

The main reason Lula calls off the engagement is that she is allergic to cats. Apparently, Tank moved out of his RangeMan apartment because he had adopted three cats and needed somewhere for them to live. When Lula told him he had to choose between her and the cats, she was in no way impressed by his answer! In the ensuing discussion with Stephanie, Lula also admitted that she didn't think she could live too long with a man who snored and sweat like Tank. And, according to Miss Gloria (who 'did' Lula's numbers), their moons were on a collision course anyway and it just wouldn't have worked out.
