Answer: Roach

'Roach' chose the name Briar for his new name, thinking of the thorny vines with the same name. For his last name, he chose Moss.

2. How is Sandry related to the ruler of Emelan?

Answer: His great-niece

Duke Vedris of Emelan often calls Sandry his favourite niece.

3. What is the name of Daja's teacher?

Answer: Frostpine

Frostpine is the famous metal-mage, the only one who can work with all types of metal - save Daja.

4. Tris' cousin, Aymery, was killed in the second book. How did this happen?

Answer: The pirate mage, Enahar, sent a man to kill him

Aymery had gambling debts with Enahar, the pirate mage. He was repaying them by treacherously sneaking around Winding Circle. Tris and Briar caught him out one night, as he let a group of killers in the city gate. Unfortunately, one of the killers informed Aymery that 'the deal was off' and murdered him.

Rosethorn catches the deadly blue pox in an accidental spill of the stuff. She becomes very sick, but Briar will not let her die. When she finally passes away, Briar goes with her, and - with the help of the other girls - brings her back to the living.

Pirisi, Sandry's Trader nursemaid, seals Sandry in a hidden room to protect her from a crazed mob of people. She tells Sandry that she will be back once the madness and the plague die out, but is attacked by the mob before she can do so.

A few other children were torturing the poor puppy in an alley, so the four get into a fight with them and save the dog.

Polyam was permanently injured in an accident, and, by Trader law, was declared 'wirok', a member of Traders with little honour, hardly better than trangshi - one who buys small needed things for her group, like food, supplies, weapons.
