T.A. Barron is the wonderful writer of 'The Lost Years of Merlin' epic (although we are only concentrating on the first book). He grew up in Colorado were he still continues to write there, creating more new and brilliant novels for us to enjoy.
2. At the front of the first book "The Lost Years Of Merlin" there are a few lines of a famous ballad, namely titled 'Of Arthour And Of Merlin'. What century was this ballad written (yes it is states there)?

Answer: Thirteenth

"He that made with his hond
Wynd and water, wode and lond;
Geve heom alle good endyng
That wolon listne this talkyng..."
A little confusing, this is a little of the ballad 'Of Arthour and Of Merlin' dated back to the thirteenth century. It is seen in the front of the first book of the series "The Lost Years of Merlin."

Answer: Emrys

He is called Emrys even though he somehow doesn't feel it is his true name. At the end of the first book he dubs himself Merlin after his friend, a hawk. Merlin isn't his "true name" either (rather confusing) but what it is we will find out in the later books.
