Ah yes, the answer that would seem obviously wrong if you've never read the books. The three sisters actually created it during the times of the Salem Witch Trials, to have a safe place to go where they wouldn't be persecuted. We're first told this in "Dance Upon the Air," but it's said in the other two books as well.

Answer: At Cafe Book

Nell has just started working there, and is behind the counter when they first see each other. Although they take an immediate interest in each other, Nell takes a long time to work up the courage to date him.

3. Although various characters suspect parts of it, who is the first person Nell tells her life story to?

Answer: Mia

We hear Nell's story in "Dance Upon the Air." It's about escaping an abusive husband by faking her own death and creating a new identity, and is a testament to her courage and strength.

4. What is the first spell in "Dance Upon the Air" that Nell tries alone?

Answer: healing a plant

She figures that if it goes wrong, she can't hurt anything, as the plant is almost dead already. She needn't have worried however, as she succeeds wonderfully.

He beats her in a swimming race, where the bet was he got one hour of her time if he won, and if she won he'd stop hitting on her. It really irritates her when he wins, as no one ever beats her at swimming.

She doesn't have control of her power, and harms him by accident when she gets mad. She intentionally heals the marks she made, telling him that her doing that is off the record.
