Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Morrigan's Cross"- Who are the twins?

Answer: Hoyt and Cian

Hoyt and Cian are twins, though not identical, whose story begins in the year 1128 in Eire. Hoyt is the sorcerer and Cian (pronounced Key An) is the "lost vampire" in the circle of six. Cian is described as the adventurous twin, lover of swords and women, in opposition to Hoyt's magical and studious side.

The brothers battled in 1128, after Cian was changed, and did not reunite until almost 900 years later.
2. "Morrigan's Cross"- Who was Cian's good friend, who was later turned into a demon by Lilith's orders?

Answer: King

King is described in Hoyt's perspective as a huge tree of a man. King's tall, black, strong, and has one dark eye and one gray eye. Cian saved King when King was just a child. They were very close, and when the vampire queen used King, Cian felt much guilt over losing him.
King was originally thought to be one of the circle of six, and so they believed his death was a failure on their parts. He was thought to be their "warrior", but that turned out to be someone much closer.
3. "Morrigan's Cross"- Who did NOT come through the Dance of Gods into Ireland, after Cian, Hoyt and Glenna were already there?

Answer: Blair

Larkin and Moira came through the Dance from the magical land of Gaell. Gaell (pronounced Guy All) means "promise" in the Gaelic language, and is the destination for the final battle of good versus evil. The duo are cousins, and Moira is the next in line to take the sword from its stone in Gaell.

Her mother, recently murdered by vampires, was the previous queen. Larkin is the shape-shifter who falls in love with Blair in Book Two. Blair is Hoyt and Cian's long distant relative, by way of their youngest sister Nola.
4. "Dance of the Gods"- Gaell has three symbols. Which symbol of Gaell does Larkin shape-shift into?

Answer: Dragon

Gaell's symbols are the sun, the dragon and the claddaugh. When Larkin first came through the Dance, he was in the form of a palomino horse with Moira on his back. Larkin's dragon came in handy in the days approaching the final battle.
5. "Dance of the Gods"- Which of Lilith's favorites did Blair injure severely with holy water?

Answer: Lora

Lora had been with Lilith for a very long time, and was very powerful. She had a personal need for ugly warfare, just like her sire. Lora was also the vampire who'd tricked Glenna into believing she was human (in Book One), which resulted in King's abduction and subsequent transformation.

In Chapter 19, Lora captured Blair in the Valley of Silence and revealed some information about herself. She said she'd been sired in Paris in 1583. Then, foolishly, she allowed Blair to drink water from a blessed batch, and Blair dashed the water onto her face and throat, burning her badly.
6. "Dance of the Gods"- According to Gaell legend, who'd buried the sacred sword inside its stone prison?

Answer: Morrigan

Morrigan, the goddess of Gaell, brought the stone, the alter, and the sword into being. Only the true ruler of Gaell could remove it from the stone, and Moira pulled it free at the end of the book. Written by Morrigan, the stone read "Sheathed by the hands of the gods, freed by the hand of a mortal, and so with this sword, shall that hand rule Gaell".
7. "Valley of Silence"- Which of these is not a vampire at some point by book's end?

Answer: Tynan

Tynan is captured prior to the final battle to be fought in the Valley of Silence. He is torn apart by young Davey, Lilith's "son" and lover, and dumped at the castle gate, but never changed. Sean is a teenage boy, stolen and changed, who delivers Tynan's lifeless body back at the castle. Lucius is one of Lilith's vampire generals, who is killed by Cian.
8. "Valley of Silence"- Moira kills Davey after he attacks Cian.

Answer: True

He was a young child when Lilith killed his family and turned him into a demon. In the four or five years since that time, Davey has become a voracious killer, and sickeningly enough, Lilith's lover. In an act of rebellion, Davey leaves the protective spell cast by Midir and goes out to hunt. Lilith and Lora send Lucius out after him, which results in both their deaths. Cian kills Lucius and Moira kills Davey.

This leaves Lilith devastated and even more hungry for destruction.
9. "Valley of Silence"- Which pair take out Midir, Lilith's sorcerer?

Answer: Glenna and Hoyt

Glenna takes on Midir first, and as she's losing ground, Hoyt joins in that battle. High on the bluff, the two of them use their considerable powers to defeat his black magicks, while the war rages on down in the Valley. Blair kills Lora, and Cian kills Lilith. Hoyt and Glenna use a powerful spell to turn dark into daylight, and vampires all over Gaell turn to dust. "In this place once damned we hold the power, and we wield it in this final hour. On this ground blood was shed in blackest night, theirs for dark and ours for light. Black magic and demon here are felled by our hand, and now we claim this bloody land. Now call forth all we have done. Now through dark we raise the sun.

Its light will strike our enemy. As we will, so mote it be."
10. "Valley of Silence"- At the start of each book, an old man is telling this story to children at his feet. In this last book, it is revealed who the storyteller actually is. Who is it?

Answer: Cian

Cian left Gaell before the sun took over night, because as a vampire he had nothing to offer Moira. After he'd spent a couple of months back in his real time, Morrigan came to him with an offer. He could live out eternity as a vampire with the blessing of the gods, or he could live out life as a human. He chose to be human, went back to Gaell and married Moira. At the time of his storytelling, he and Moira had been married sixty years and had enjoyed the company of Hoyt, Glenna, Blair, Larkin, and all their offspring.

I hope you enjoyed my little quiz and its retelling of a magical three tiered love story, and the epic battle that brought six people together for an eternity.
