Vampires have appeared throughout the world. It was Bram Stoker who brought this concept to the literary public in his 1897 novel "Dracula".
In the novel Dracula was longing for the days when he was in power. He set off to England where he encountered Mina Harker and Lucy Westenra. He converted Lucy into a vampire and the set out to convert Mina. The only person with the background to thwart Dracula's plan was Van Helsing.

Although the character of Fagin could have been considered a villain; it was the character Bill Sikes that showed the most cruel and evil behavior. He constantly beat his dog and terrified the children in Fagin's employ. Fagin convinced Bill that his girlfriend Nancy had betrayed them by helping young Oliver to a better life. In a fit of rage Bill killed Nancy. The description of her murder by her lover in the novel was quite graphic and showed his ultimate cruelty.

The slippers got transferred to Dorothy's feet. The witch tried everything to get them back including flying monkeys and a sleeping potion. The only person who may have been able to help her was the Wizard who lived in Emerald City.

Long John Silver was a character created by Robert Louis Stevenson. At first he seemed to be on the side young Jim Hawkins in his quest for the treasure. He acted like a father to him even going so far to convince Jim that he had nothing but good intentions. It was only after Jim realized that it was Long John Silver behind the mutiny that his true character was revealed.
Jack Sparrow was the pirate in "The Pirates of the Caribbean" movie series which began in 2003.
Captain Nemo became a pirate in Jules Verne's novel "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea", published in 1870.
One-Eyed Willie was the pirate in the movie "The Goonies" (1985).

The novel "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was written by Ken Kesey and published in 1962. Mildred Ratched was the head nurse of a ward in a mental institution. She gained control over her patients through humiliation, intimidation, and fear. Even the staff felt intimidated by her in her attempt for absolute power and control. All this began to unravel with the arrival of Randle Patrick MacMurphy.
The novel was adapted for the screen in 1975. It won several academy awards.

All the while he was plotting and scheming to ruin Mr. Wickfield financially and take over the business. He tried to force his daughter into marriage.
