Answer: Opening of "The Lion King"

When Chicken Little's father, Buck Cluck, began the story of "Chicken Little" he was going through all the ways that fairy tales begin. He nixed 'Once upon a time' and the opening of "The Lion King". When it came to the opening of a book, the narrator nixed that idea as well. By deciding that all the ideas given to open the movie were wrong, Buck Cluck decided just to start on the day that everything went wrong.

The character of Chicken Little was originally written as a female character with Holly Hunter as the voice and a different story line given for the movie. Michael Eisner liked the idea of Chicken Little being a small male character who was constantly picked on better than the female character.

The story was rewritten in three months with Zach Braff being the new voice of the male character, Chicken Little.

The first time we see the name of the town is on the water tower as it's falling to the ground. The town sign for Oakey Oaks is seen later in the movie with 'the Best Acorns in the Universe' as their town slogan.

Chicken Little's pig friend was named Runt and was a large pig. His female friend Abby Mallard was known as Ugly Duckling by the bullies in the school. Chicken Little's friend Fish Out of Water walked around with a scuba helmet full of water. Abby became Chicken Little's girlfriend at the movie's end.

The movie began with everyone scrambling around when Chicken Little sounded the school bell. When Chicken Little's father, Buck, learned it was an acorn that hit Chicken Little on the head and not a piece of the sky, he apologized for his son's hysteria and hoped it would go away. Unfortunately, one year later a movie was made about the Chicken Little incident.

Buck Cluck was known as Ace in high school for his baseball greatness. Chicken Little wanted to play as well. He signed up, but only got to play when no other player was able to play. The coach wanted Chicken Little to walk instead of try to hit the ball. After two failed attempts to hit the ball, Chicken Little made a home run and won the game.

Chicken Little won the baseball game even though no one thought he could do it. It made him the hit with the school children and their parents. The night that Chicken Little won the baseball game, he sang "We are the Champions" in his room. His dad came in shortly after and recalled the winning moment of the game with Chicken Little.

After his dad left, a "piece of the sky" fell into Chicken Little's room. When Buck came into Chicken Little's room to see what was wrong, Chicken Little told him he fell out of bed.

He hid the "piece of sky" under a blanket so his dad wouldn't see it.

Chicken Little began to freak out after seeing the "piece of sky" on his bedroom floor. He didn't know what to do so he called his friends. When they got there, Chicken Little showed them the "piece of sky" and how it took the form of whatever it was pressed against.

They didn't realize it belonged to a spaceship until Fish Out Of Water rode the piece into the air and disappeared inside the spaceship.

The alien child followed Chicken Little and his friends off the spaceship when it landed in the baseball field. He found Chicken Little at his house and told them his name was Kirby and he followed them off the spaceship. Kirby was an orange hairball alien with three eyes.

Answer: They came for the acorns.

Tina, the mother alien, told Chicken Little and the others that they stopped in town every year to get acorns on their way to see her parents. Earth was the only planet they could find that had acorns. The town also learned that the year before when Chicken Little said the sky was falling it was because the same piece of spaceship fell on Chicken Little while he was sitting under the acorn tree.
