Sunny is an infant who communicates with her siblings through baby talk.
She also has a remarkable biting ability that always seems to come in handy. She chews everything from tabletops to Scrabble tiles. Twins Shelby and Kara Hoffman depict her in the movie.
5. Who is the Baudelaires' "closest" relative?

Answer: Count Olaf

Count Olaf is the Baudelaires' closest relative, geographically speaking only. He lives a mere thirty-seven blocks from the Baudelaire mansion. He is either the Baudelaires' fourth cousin, three times removed, or their third cousin, four times removed.

The Baudelaire children are left in his care. When they discover what an evil person Count Olaf is, they are sent to to their Uncle Monty, and then to their Aunt Josephine. Justice Strauss is Count Olaf's neighbor who lives across the block from him. Count Olaf is played by Jim Carrey.
6. What is Count Olaf's profession?

Answer: Actor

He is a horrible and egotistic actor who often bores his acting troupe to sleep with his long improvisations. His poor disguises as Stefano and Captain Sham are recognized instantly by the Baudelaire children.
7. What time does Count Olaf plan for the train to hit the Baudelaire orphans?

Answer: 11:15

Count Olaf wants to eliminate the orphans so he can enjoy their enormous fortune. Fortunately, they figure it out in time, and alter the train's path before it can run into their car.

Answer: snake

Uncle Monty has a large room in his house known as the "reptile room", where he keeps all his snakes, both large and small. His most prized discovery is the incredibly dangerous viper, which is actually harmless. Uncle Monty is depicted by Billy Connolly.
9. Which South American country is Uncle Monty traveling to?

Answer: Peru

Uncle Monty is going there with the orphans, to save them from the vicious Count Olaf. Unluckily for the orphans, Count Olaf kills him before his plan can be carried out.
10. How long did Ike wait before going swimming?

Answer: 45 minutes

He did not the wait the entire 60 minutes that his wife, Aunt Josephine, instructed him to, so leeches detected the scent of food in his stomach and killed him. Later on, Aunt Josephine suffered the same fate.
11. What food did Aunt Josephine eat that caused leeches to attack?

Answer: banana

When Aunt Josephine and the Baudelaire children are in the middle of the lake, they are relieved that the leeches will not attack them, because they think that none of them have eaten in a long time. However, they discover that Aunt Josephine actually ate a banana, so the leeches come for them.
12. Which is not one of Aunt Josephine's fears?

Answer: The chandelier will fall if the light is turned on.

Aunt Josephine used to be very daring and even tamed lions, but when her beloved husband Ike was killed by leeches, she grew immensely paranoid. Of course, all the things that Aunt Josephine fears do occur, to varying degrees. She also has an irrational fear of realtors and is obsessed with grammar. Ironically, her house is built on stilts precariously over Lake Lachrymose. Meryl Streep portrays Aunt Josephine.
13. Who does Count Olaf marry, near the movie's conclusion?

Answer: Violet

Yes, it is icky, but Count Olaf forces his fourteen-year old cousin to marry him, because he wants to inherit the vast Baudelaire fortune. Count Olaf blackmails Violet into marriage by holding Sunny hostage. He pretends the marriage is part of his play "The Marvelous Marriage", but it is valid because a real judge, Judge Strauss, is presiding over the ceremony.
14. The movie "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" is based on the first three books in the series. Which book is not part of the movie?

Answer: The Miserable Mill

"The Bad Beginning" spans from the Baudelaire children becoming orphans, to meeting Count Olaf, to Violet's marriage to Olaf. "The Reptile Room" covers the Baudelaires' stay with Uncle Monty. "The Wide Window" chronicles the Baudelaires' time spent with their Aunt Josephine.

The movie does not follow the chronology of the books exactly, and uses the end of the first book as the end of the entire movie. "The Miserable Mill" is the fourth book in the series, where the orphans stay at a lumbermill and more unfortunate events befall them. If you could not tell, all the titles in the series are alliterations.
15. Finally, who plays the role of the mysterious narrator, Lemony Snicket?

Answer: Jude Law

Lemony Snicket is the often heard narrator, who is seen only in shadow during the movie. How he knows the tale of the Baudelaire children is unknown. Timothy Spall plays Mr. Poe, the dimwitted banker left in charge of the Baudelaire estate.
