Every human and animal in this episode dies. The machine is the only thing left living. There is some controversey as to this, but when the machine is rejected by the last human girl (Alexa) in the virtual world, he shuts down the power. There is no chance for her survival once everything was shut down.

The machine then goes and sits alone in the same place Alexa sat in the opening scene.
