The Narrator explained at the beginning; "I was 7 years old when I first heard him scream. It scared me then, and it scares me now."

The creature is referred to as "The Fouke Monster." The Narrator will tell you. "If you've driven from Shreveport to Texarcana, you've driven right through Fouke, even if you don't remember."
