Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What newspaper boasted the headline "Mouse Hero Returns: Did Everything To Save Cat" in the "Itchy and Scratchy Movie"?

Answer: Washingtoon Post

The real Washington Post is circulated throughout Washington, D.C. and was founded in 1877. It is widely accepted as one of the most important and influential newspapers in the United States.

In "The Simpsons Movie"(2007), the headline can be seen after Itchy and Scratchy are on the moon and Itchy goes back to Earth.
2. Which two former First Ladies were "Simpsonized" for this movie?

Answer: Jackie Kennedy and Hillary Clinton

Jackie Kennedy was "Simpsonized" as one of the mice women riding in the car with Itchy, as part of his parade celebration after he returned from the moon. Hillary Clinton was "Simpsonized" as his running mate in the Presidential election. The blonde mouse in the parade could have been a version of Marilyn Monroe(for those of you who don't know, it was thought that JFK and Monroe were having an affair in the '60s.)

Maria Shriver is Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife. However, because he was not born in the United States (he is Austrian), he can never become President and, therefore, she can never become First Lady.
3. During the Green Day concert, you can see the Duff blimp floating in the sky behind the barge. What was the phrase that was printed on it?

Answer: Binge Responsibly

At first glance, I thought it said "Drink Responsibly" but upon closer inspection, I noticed it said "Binge" instead of "Drink". Duff Beer is the beer of choice for most, if not all, of the beer-drinkers in Springfield.
4. When Homer fell through the roof, we saw Grandpa sitting in a chair reading a magazine. What was the title on the cover of the magazine?

Answer: Oatmeal Enthusiast

You have to look VERY closely. I could read the "Oatmeal" quite easily, but it took me a while to find out that the second part said "Enthusiast". The picture on the cover of the magazine is simply a bowl of oatmeal. As Homer comes crashing through the roof a mere few feet away from Grandpa, Grandpa appears to show zero reaction!
5. Which President's portrait was NOT one that could be seen in the background at the White House?

Answer: Bill Clinton

Though Bill Clinton has been "Simpsonized" for the show, he was not seen in the movie. Washington and Roosevelt's portraits could be seen behind Russ Cargill when he was at the Main Desk, before entering the Oval Office. Lincoln's portrait could be seen near the President's desk.
6. Which building did NOT appear to be on the outskirts of town, when the dome was being lowered over Springfield?

Answer: Moe's Bar

Moe's Bar was not on the outskirts of town. You could see this in the scene where Moe, Barney, and others came out of the bar, then Reverend Lovejoy and several parishioners came out of the church and then both groups ran to the opposite buildings (Moe and Barney ran to the church, and Rev. Lovejoy ran to the bar).
7. What group of Arctic people did the medicine woman belong to?

Answer: Inuit

This was mentioned when she was teaching Homer how to do throat-singing. She called it the "ancient Inuit art of throat-singing." The Inuit people generally live in northern Canada and parts of Alaska, but can also be found in Greenland and northern Russia.

The other three choices - Inca, Maya, and Aztec - are all ancient Indian civilizations. The Incas were native to South America and died out in the 1500s. The majority of the Aztecs (native to Mexico) were killed by a smallpox outbreak in the 1500s.

The rest were defeated by the Spanish in 1521. The Mayans (native to Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador) are still a prominent group with 6 million currently living in Central America.
8. When Homer was split into pieces by the Epipha-tree, which part of his body, that humans have two of, was each given its own hand?

Answer: Ears

In all, Homer was split into 12 parts by the Epipha-tree: head, mouth, abdomen, chest, head, foot, leg/foot, and each arm/hand. The eyes were put in one hand as well, but each ear was given its own hand. The only parts that I noticed that continued to move after being split apart were the eyes and mouth.
9. Which film is NOT spoofed in "The Simpsons Movie?"

Answer: Jaws

Although it is spoofed in many films, "Jaws"(1975) was not spoofed in "The Simpsons Movie"(2007). "Harry Potter"(2001) and "Spiderman"(2002) were both spoofed with the pig (Spider-pig and Harry Plopper). "Titanic"(1997) was spoofed when Green Day's barge was sinking. One member stated "Gentlemen, it's been an honor playing with you tonight," and they all pulled out string instruments and began playing "Nearer My God to Thee." It is said, and widely believed, that this actually happened as the RMS Titanic was sinking way back in 1912.

The four-man quartet played inspirational music for the passengers until moments before the ship sank. Sadly, all of those men perished that night.
10. Which voice actor for the Simpson's family only has one voice to contribute to the franchise?

Answer: Yeardley Smith

Yeardley Smith is the only voice actor with one voice. She voices Lisa. Dan Castellaneta voices Homer, as well as Barney, Grandpa, Mayor Quimby, Krusty the Clown, and many others. Julie Kavner voices Marge, Patty, and Selma. And Nancy Cartwright voices Bart and Maggie, along with Ralph, Nelson, and Tod Flanders.
