1. Let's start off with this one. In "Scream", Cotton Weary was introduced as a man wrongfully convicted of murder. Who was he said to have murdered?

Cotton Weary was convicted of murdering Maureen Prescott, Sidney's mother. Sidney accused Cotton when she saw the killer leave, wearing Cotton's jacket. The real killers, Billy and Stu, had framed Cotton and told Sidney this. In "Scream 2", Cotton was presented as an innocent man wrongfully accused, and he had a much bigger role in this movie. Sadly, Cotton was killed in the beginning of "Scream 3".

In "Scream 2", we first see Cotton on TV in Sidney's dorm room. He was being interviewed on a TV show about his proven innocence. The interview with Sidney came later, where Sidney was not too happy to learn that Gale had set her up.
