Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This bad guy first appeared in 1978. He was first known as "The Shape" and doesn't talk much. It's apparent he may need counseling to deal with his family issues. Who is he?

Answer: Michael Myers

As a child, Michael Myers killed his sister, Judith, on Halloween. He is sent to Smith's Grove Sanitarium where he meets Dr. Loomis for the first time. Loomis works with Michael for years, and is perhaps the one person who knows Michael best. While the original "Halloween" does not show why Michael is so bent on killing his entire family, the 2007 Rob Zombie remake delves into Michael's childhood. Rob Zombie's "Halloween" shows Michael taking abuse from his mother and her boyfriend.

It also outlines his tendencies for masks and cruelty to animals. Nearly all of the movies in the "Halloween" series feature Michael hunting down and killing the rest of his family.

The only "Halloween" movie Michael does not star in is "Halloween III: Season of the Witch."
2. This evil man was a serial child murderer. The parents of Springwood ultimately killed this man, sending him into the world of the undead. He comes back and continues to kill teenagers while they sleep in a series of movies starting in 1984. Who is it?

Answer: Freddy Krueger

Freddy Krueger is best recognized by his burned face, red and green striped sweater, and clawed glove. He torments and kills his victims in their dreams, which results in their death in the real world. While some movie villains are the strong, silent type, Freddy enjoys making wise cracks. The "A Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise consists of movies, TV shows, novels, and comic books.
3. In the original movie (released in 1980), this psycho killer goes on a murder spree at Camp Crystal Lake. Who is it?

Answer: Pamela Voorhees

Pamela Voorhees gave birth to Jason when she was just 16 years old. Because of his deformity, she wouldn't allow Jason to go to school. Pamela and Jason were very close to each other. When Pamela gets a job as a cook at Camp Crystal Lake, Jason goes with her.

The kids tease Jason, making fun of him for not being able to swim. In an effort to prove the other kids wrong, Jason jumps into the lake. His body is never found and he is presumed dead. Pamela blames the camp counselors and goes on a killing spree.

In the first "Friday the 13th," the camp has a new owner who is preparing to re-open the cursed camp. Pamela comes back to ensure this doesn't happen.
4. Born in 1888, Captain Elliott Spenser served for the British Expeditionary Force during World War I. After the Battle of Flanders in 1914, Spenser lost all faith in the world. He transformed into "The Angel of Suffering" after opening Lemarchand's box. Who is this "Angel of Suffering?"

Answer: Pinhead

Pinhead was first introduced to the world in 1987's "Hellraiser." Unlike most movie villains, Pinhead can only kill after being summoned from the puzzle box. Once the puzzle box is solved, the victim is then tortured and murdered. Pinhead's back story can be seen in "Hellbound: Hellraiser II" (1988) and "Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth" (1992). Pinhead and his gang are killed in the second movie after he is turned back into a human.

He comes back in the third film, but he is no longer human.
5. The son of a serial murderer, this man first appears in the second movie of a franchise, and he acquires his trademark look in the third movie in 1982. What's his name?

Answer: Jason Voorhees

When the original "Friday the 13th" was made, Jason was not intended to be the main killer. Jason's mother, Pamela, explains that her son died in the lake some years before. But Jason comes back in the second movie to avenge the death of his mother. Before his hockey mask, Jason wears a bag over his head.

In "Friday the 13th Part III," Jason hides out in a barn, killing anyone who comes near. He attains a hockey mask from one of the victims and sets out to kill again.
6. Anthony Perkins plays the role of this crazy hotel owner in 1960. He has a very controlling "mother" who doesn't like him to have guests in the house. What is his name?

Answer: Norman Bates

After the death of his father, Norman Bates lived alone with his mother. Despite the emotional and verbal abuse, the two grew very close. When Norman was a teenager, his mother started dating. He killed both his mother and her boyfriend in a fit of jealousy. Norman preserved his mother's body and suffered a mental break, and started to assume his mother's identity.

He often dresses in her clothes and talks in her voice. Norman ends up killing Marion Crane in that infamous shower scene. "Psycho" is based on the novel of the same name by Robert Bloch.
7. This man likes playing with puppets. After his death, Neil Gallagher takes over the puppets. Who is the original master of puppets?

Answer: Andre Toulon

In "Puppet Master" (1989), Andre Toulon is holed up in the Bodega Bay Inn. Toulon has figured out how to give life to his puppets. He uses these puppets for evil. When Nazis storm into his room, Toulon shoots and kills himself. There are five puppets featured in the first movie (there are new ones in the sequels). Blade has a hook for one hand, a knife for the other. Jester has a segmented head that has the ability to show different emotions. Pinhead has two overlarge hands that pack quite the punch. Torch has a flame thrower in place of one of his hands. Leech Woman vomits leeches on her victims.
8. This 1992 movie is about an urban legend killer that can be summoned from any mirror simply by saying his/her name five times. Are you brave enough to say the name?

Answer: Candyman

"Candyman" was first released in 1992. In the sequel, "Candyman 2: Farewell to the Flesh" (1995), Candyman's past is revealed. Candyman's real name is Daniel Robitaille and he was the son of a slave. When Daniel's affair with a white woman is exposed, he is chased out of town.

He is tortured and covered in fresh honey. A little boy tastes the honey and dubs Daniel the "Candy Man." A swarm of bees engulfs Daniel's body, fatally stinging him. The father of Daniel's mistress holds a mirror in front of Daniel so that he can watch himself die. Daniel's soul is transferred to the mirror.
9. This nut job doesn't use a chain saw to cut down trees. He uses it to kill people in a series of movies starting in 1974. He's also fond of wearing his victims' skin. Who is this blood thirsty killer?

Answer: Leatherface

The very first "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was released in 1974. No one really knows what Leatherface's real name is, however many believe it to be Bubba Sawyer. Leatherface is the mentally challenged member of the carnivorous Sawyer family. It appears he kills on his family's orders.

He gets the nickname "Leatherface" because he wears the skin of his victims on his face. The Sawyer family own a gas station. After processing the bodies of their victims, they sell them to unsuspecting customers in the form of chili and barbecue.
10. In this 1988 movie, Charles Lee Ray is shot and fatally wounded. Before dying, he runs into a toy store and, after a little voodoo, turns into a "good guy." What is Charles Lee Ray better known as?

Answer: Chucky

Charles Lee Ray was known as the "Lakeshore Strangler" and was a voodoist before his death. In the first "Child's Play," he and his partner, Eddie Caputo, are on the run from police. Eddie ditches Charles, leaving him to fend for himself. Charles is chased by police and is fatally wounded by Mike Norris.

He runs into a toy store and sees a display of "Good Guy" dolls. Before he dies, he vows to kill Eddie and Mike, and transfers his soul into the doll. The toy store is hit by lightning and burns down.

A homeless man finds the doll and sells it to Karen Barclay, who gives it to her son Andy. Chucky then sets out to keep his promise.
