And what a dumb song it was. In "Dance With a Stranger," she was an assistant bartender at the club run by Ruth Ellis. In "Scandal," she was the centerpiece of a nightclub revue when she was spotted by Steven Ward. "Running Bear" was the big nightclub production number in which Bridget Fonda upstaged the entire chorus line by appearing topless (part of her costume had been swiped). Whalley, the star, responded by whacking Fonda in the face with her costume wings.

It was the start of a great friendship!
