Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these songs is NOT referenced in 'Glass Onion?'

Answer: Mean Mr. Mustard

"I told you about strawberry fields
You know the place where nothing is real" is an obvious reference to "Strawberry Fields Forever",
"I told you about the walrus and me, man
You know that we're as close as can be, man
Well here's another clue for you all
The walrus is Paul" (The last part about Paul was written mostly by John to confuse people and lend to the 'Paul is Dead' theory.
"I told you about the fool on the hill
I tell you man he's living there still"
2. Complete the lyrics. "Tryin' to make a _____ joint"

Answer: dovetail

Right after "dovetail joint, yeah" (which occurs at 1 min 46 sec) someone can be heard saying "hey!"
3. What kind of shore does he stand on?

Answer: cast iron

"Standing on a cast iron shore, yeah
Lady Madonna tryin' to make ends meet, yeah
Looking through a glass onion"
Once again, the sole purpose of the lyrics to this song is confuse listeners and make them think there must be some secret meaning. (Which there isn't.)
4. What kind of tulips does the singer look through?

Answer: bent backed

"Looking through the bent backed tulips
To see how the others half live
Looking through a glass onion"
While the lyrics of this song are, for the most part, complete nonsense, the second line shown here could be a reference to social ignorance (not a fact).
5. Who was the lead singer?

Answer: John

John and Paul wrote it, but John sang it while everyone else sang harmony. John did write the majority of the lyrics though.
6. Which of these albums can 'Glass Onion' be found on?

Answer: Anthology 3

'Glass Onion' can also be found on "The White Album" and "The Beatles."
7. Where is the hole John is fixing?

Answer: In the ocean

The Sea of Holes is a place the Beatles visited in "Yellow Submarine", where Ringo picks up a hole and puts it in his pocket. "Fixing a hole where the rain gets in" is from the song 'Fixing a Hole.'
8. Complete the lyrics: "Where everything ______."

Answer: flows

"Well here's another place you can go
Where everything flows"
The word 'another' is used because it is in addition to strawberry fields.
9. The take of the song that was released was a number less than 10.

Answer: False

The Beatles actually weren't satisfied until they had recorded 33 takes.
10. 'Glass Onion' was written to:

Answer: confuse fans

John Lennon had gotten sick and tired of fans trying to find hidden meanings in his songs, so he wrote 'Glass Onion' for the sole purpose of confusing people. The only piece of information that can be deduced by hearing or reading the lyrics to the song is that John can be very random when he puts his mind to it.
