In 1991, "Primal Scream" was made available as a single. It was not very successful commercially, peaking at number 63 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and 26th on the UK Singles Chart. "Primal Scream" was on the 1991 album "Decade of Decadence 81-91," a mixture of the best songs from the band.

The English heavy metal group Motörhead was founded in 1975. Lucas Fox, Larry Wallis, and Lemmy Kilmister were the band's original members. Commercially, the best line-up for the band was Lemmy, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, and guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke. Both the single and the album were the band's biggest successes. The band's best years were in the 1980s, when albums, singles, and sales all charted well.

Lemmy was also a member of the band Hawkwind between 1971 and 1975.
