Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which song are these lyrics from? "Raised my voice in anger when I know I never should"

Answer: Liar

"Liar" was written by Freddie Mercury and is one of Queen's more dark and intense songs. It is the fifth song on their first album, "Queen" and runs at six minutes and 23 seconds.
2. The line "Sammy, boy, don't you know who you are?" is from which song?

Answer: Spread Your Wings

This song was written by John Deacon on the "News Of The World" album. At four minutes and 34 seconds, it is a beautiful song (in my opinion, one of the greatest yet most underrated songs of all time) that is a story song, talking about a chap named Sammy, who works at The Emerald Bar and who wants to move on to something greater, but doesn't have the ambition.
3. Which song is this line from? "Do you feel like suicide? Is your conscience alright? Does it plague you at night?"

Answer: Death On Two Legs

Another song by Freddie, this song is, as Freddie put it "dedicated to a real (word that cannot be repeated on this site) of a gentleman." The "gentleman" is Norman Sheffield, who used to be Queen's manager, but took advantage of his position and ripped Queen off, leaving four hardworking musicians in poverty while he went and bought a SECOND Rolls Royce. Talk about selfish!
4. "Out here on the street we'll gather and meet, and scuff up the sidewalk with endlessly restless feet." Which song are these lyrics from?

Answer: Drowse

This song was written by Roger Taylor, and is known as Queen's most mellow song, much different to Roger's usual hardrockers but you can't really sit back and judge until you're finished."
5. Which song is this? "Mother Mercury, look what they've done to me. I cannot run, I cannot hide."

Answer: My Fairy King

A Freddie song; before writing this song Freddie Mercury was known as Freddie Bulsara, and this line is said to have inspired him to change his surname. Brian May has said that after the line was written, Freddie claimed he was singing about his own mother. So, Freddie Bulsara took the stage name Freddie Mercury.
6. Which song are these lyrics from? "Hot child don't you know you're young? You got your whole life ahead of you"

Answer: Sail Away Sweet Sister

A song written by Brian May, it was featured on "The Game" album in 1980.
7. "Lonely as a whisper on a star chase, does anyone care anyway?" What song is this line from?

Answer: Long Away

"Long Away" is the third track on the album "A Day at the Races". Brian wrote the song and sang the lead vocals. Roger sang the highest parts of the song, while Freddie only did the backing vocals.
8. Which song? "Don't destroy what you see, your country to be, just keep building on the ground that's been won".

Answer: Father To Son

"Father to Son" was written by Brain and features heavy metal sections as well as a quiet piano part, which he played. "Father to Son" has parts with Brian on multi-tracked guitar, played through the Deacy Amp. It is written in the father's perspective when talking or thinking about his son.
9. "I live my life for you, think all my thoughts with you" is from what song?

Answer: In The Lap Of The Gods

"In the Lap of the Gods" is, according to Freddie himself, the direct prelude to "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the "A Night at the Opera" album in general. In the song, there are falsettos by Roger. Those high notes were thought to be made using synthesisers, and to prove they were not, Roger would reproduce them in live performance every night. Throughout the entire song, wind effects can be heard.
10. Which song is this? "I wish Friday would last forever. I held her close to me".

Answer: In Only Seven Days

"In Only Seven Days" is John's second song on "The News Of The World", along with "Spread Your Wings".
