Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "This carpet tastes like coffee grounds ground into my face now..." Which of the following songs do these lyrics go to?

Answer: Falling Out

This is part of the chorus followed by "and every angle is covered with just another Band-Aid." The song talks about how they are "falling out" of favor with the world but never will with God.
2. "If I had one wish, well I don't know what I'd wish for..." Which song do these lyrics belong to?

Answer: Gibberish

I find this song very amusing because, except for the chorus which kindly warns you not to talk to all your friends in gibberish, the whole song is in an ununderstandable nonsense language. After this part of the chorus, they say, "...but if I had, a million zillion wishes, I'd use one to let you know that Gibberish is not a nice way to talk to all your friends."
3. "Ok so, who doesn't own a cell phone? Who brought back their permission slips?" Which song is this line from?

Answer: Chapstick, Chapped Lips, and Things like Chemistry

I think this song makes just about as much sense as the "Gibberish" one because it starts off talking about cell phones and ends up with the whole chapstick thing. It is the number one track on the album and is followed by "Mood Rings".
4. "So it was Jeremy in 1983 in his Ocean Pacific tee, who got a bloody knee..."

Answer: In Love with the 80's (Pink Tux to the Prom)

Pink tuxes to the prom, left ear piercing, and working on mustaches over the summer seems to be the theme of this song. Although I really can't relate to those things this song also amuses me. (I think the whole album kind of does.)
5. "80 grand later I found out that all that I had learned, is that you should show up to take your finals and your midterms..." Which song is this lyric from?

Answer: College Kids

This song made me laugh too.(What a surprise!) It talks about the troubles of going through college; from not having enough money for anything, to parties, to the Navy saying that you enlisted. They even talk about calling their father because they think he knows the dean.
6. What city in Ohio does the song "Hoopes I did it Again" mention?

Answer: Canton

Canton, Ohio has a population of about 80,800 people and it just so happens that Brian Pittman and Matt Hoopes (two of the band members) are from that city. Matt Theissen is from Fort Erie, Ontario and Dave Douglas is from Cleveland, Ohio.
7. Ok, we're done with lyrics and on to questions about the band. How many members were in the band when their third album, "Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...But Three Do" came out?

Answer: 4 members

There are four of them and their names are Matt T., Matt H., Dave, and Brian. Yes, there are a lot of people that help out with the band (producers etc.) but this question is just asking how many band members.
8. What was the title of Relient K's second full length album?

Answer: The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek

Their first album is called "Relient K", and "Our Second Album" is not the name of any of their albums. The third full length album is called "Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...But Three Do" and is where the lyrics on this quiz are from.
9. Which of the four band members (Matt T., Matt H., Brian, Dave) is the oldest?

Answer: Dave

Dave was born in '79 while Matt T. and Brian were born in '80 and Matt H. in '81.
10. How does Relient K say that they write their songs?

Answer: By ear

In their FAQ section on their website it asks for guitar tabs and they say they do not have time to write it out or need to, because they do it by ear.
