Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Finish the lyric: "_______ go, but _______ leave an imprint on my mind."

Answer: stories

"Honestly, the things I see, it seems as though we fly/Stories go, but stories leave an imprint on my mind"
This line is from the song "White Lights" which is the second song on the album. This song has a REALLY cool intro riff.
2. In "Pirate," the singer accuses radio D.J.s of being "quick to find that _______ in the sky." What are they quick to find?

Answer: dollar

"So quick to find that dollar in the sky."
To me this song seems fairly ironic because there are so many songs out there that complain about how the radio doesn't have any variety just as this one does.
3. In which song do the singer's "problems remain the same" and thus he feels that "there's no end"?

Answer: "Decency"

"My problems remain the same/There's no end."
This song has only two stanzas which are repeated several times in the song. This repetition has the effect of making it seem that there is indeed "no end."
4. In the song "We Exist," the singer seems to pray only when?

Answer: when he's down

"So it seems I pray only when I'm down"
This is definitely one of my most favorite songs on the album, but unfortunately practically all the lyric websites get the lyrics completely wrong!
5. Which song is this lyric from: "Any single problem in your wondering mind complements my ordinary life"?

Answer: "Countdown"

"Countdown" is the first song on the album. This lyric often shows up on lyric websites incorrectly with the word "compliment" instead of "complement."
Yes, they do have two different meanings:
compliment - an expression of esteem, respect, affection, or admiration; especially: an admiring remark
complement - something that fills up, completes, or makes perfect
6. In the song "Follow Me," the singer tells someone that they have "_______ [his] heart and _______ [his] mind." What has this person done to his heart and mind, respectively?

Answer: stolen, trapped

"You've stolen my heart and trapped my mind/I'm giving into you, I'm lost again"
This album was released in 2003, two years after their first album: Perhaps, I Suppose... and two years before their third and most recent album: The Comfort of Home.
7. Finish the lyric: "Things never change with out the _______ to move on."

Answer: strength

"Things never change/Without the strength to move on"
This line is from the song "Set It Off."
8. Finish the lyric: "Gonna kill yourself believing in ____________."

Answer: these beautiful lies

"Prove it to the world you're perfect/Choking on your pride/
Gonna kill yourself believing in these beautiful lies"
This song was featured on the Warped Tour 2003 compilation album.
9. In the song "Control," the singer says, "you're controlled by..." what?

Answer: your design

"You're controlled by your own design"
I find it amusing that on this album they have a song called "Control" while on their third album, The Comfort of Home, they have a song called "Out of Control."
10. Which song is this line from: "Bring out your colors of natural glow, 'cause all you want is to know that I'm yours"?

Answer: "Over It"

This is the last song on the album, even after "Goodbye," something that seems odd to me. Another interesting tidbit is that when I went to see Rufio and Relient K in concert, the opening band for them was called Over It. Quite the coincidence.
