Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Sheavy was born in what Canadian city?

Answer: St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

Formed in 1993 under the name "Green Machine", the band was originally a Kyuss cover band. After playing shows around St. John's, the band changed its name to Sheavy and went to the studio to record their first studio album titled "Blue Sky Mind".
2. After the release of their second studio album "The Electric Sleep", one British reviewer compared Sheavy to what classic metal band?

Answer: Black Sabbath

The reviewer deemed it "the best Black Sabbath album in 25 years.", and the comparisons don't stop there; the title track from "The Electric Sleep" was able to be found on the internet as a lost Sabbath track.
3. "Stingray Pt. I" is a track found on 2000's "Celestial Hi-Fi".

Answer: False

Nope, "Celestial Hi-Fi" contains "Stingray Pt.II". Prior to the release of "Celestial Hi-Fi" there actually was no "Stingray Pt. I".
4. What album is "Stingray Pt. III" from?

Answer: Republic?

2005 saw the release of "Republic?", which makes reference to the Republic of Newfoundland. The album cover shows several Republic flags coloured pink, white and green.
5. Where was "Republic?" recorded?

Answer: The Republic

Interesting enough that the band should have recorded the album in a place with the same name. It was actually above The Republic, which is a club on Duckworth street in St. John's.
6. Sheavy recorded a performance for DVD and it was released with "The Machine That Won The War" in 2007; what was the venue?

Answer: Holy Heart of Mary Auditorium

My former High School! While Sheavy has played at most venues around St. John's, they filmed at the Holy Heart Auditorium because of its reasonable capacity.
7. There is a song off of "Blue Sky Mind" that is sung in falsetto. Which is it?

Answer: Sea Of Tomorrow

If you don't know what falsetto is, it's the vocal range thats just above the modal (normal) range for a human.
8. "Dalas Tar" is somewhat of an analogy to another metal band. Which?

Answer: Black Sabbath

The similarities between Sheavy and Black Sabbath seem to be endless! The song "Dalas Tar" spelled backwards is "Rat Salad". "Rat Salad" is a song off of Sabbath's "Paranoid" album. The liner notes of "Blue Sky Machine" spell the song title "dalaS taR", spelling it backwards properly.
9. What album features "Firebird350" as the opening track?

Answer: Synchronized

The album cover shows the wing of a plane flying in synchronicity with another plane. "Firebird350" is one of multiple flying themed titles from the album.
10. The final track off of "Republic?" has two parts to the title, "Last Chance..." is the first, what is the second part?

Answer: Gremlin X

Likely my favorite Sheavy song, the track listing on the back of the album has it placed in the middle of the album.
