The novel is a classic coming of age story set in the Victorian era and told through the eyes of a young and very naïve boy. The film of the novel was released in 1971 and starred Julie Christie and Alan Bates.
2. The front man of The Go-Betweens, born on 29th June, 1957 and one of the founding members was:

Answer: Robert Forster

Robert Forster and Grant McLennan were the two founding and only consistent members of The Go-Betweens. They met while studying drama at the University Of Queensland and they became best friends. Grant had no prior musical training but Robert encouraged Grant to learn how to play bass guitar so they could start a band. Robert Forster has since written a memoir about their friendship, "Grant and I" that was published in 2016.
3. Which band member sadly passed away on 6th May, 2006, after suffering a heart attack?

Grant McLennan passed away at the age of 48 in his Brisbane home. Grant had been planning a housewarming party for that evening. He complained of feeling unwell, however and went to his room to lie down. His partner, Emma Pursey and his friends found him dead some time later.

Robert Forster and Grant McLennan formed The Go-Betweens in January, 1978. Their first public appearance was in April, 1978 at Baroona Hall, Brisbane. They were the support act for local band "Numbers". Even though they only played two songs at this gig, they were immediately asked to return to make further appearances.
