Answer: Kings of Leon - "Sex on Fire"

Kings of Leon made number three with "On Call" in 2007 from the album "Because of the Times". One year later, they released the album "Only By The Night", which went to number one in Australia. "Sex on Fire" also spent four weeks at number one in Australia.
2. Which of the following artists did not have four songs in the countdown?

Answer: The Grates

Vampire Weekend made it into the countdown with "One, (Blake's Got a New Face)", "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa", "A-Punk" and "Oxford Comma". Kings of Leon made it into the countdown with "Crawl", "Closer", "Use Somebody" and "Sex on Fire". Nick Littlemore made two entries with Pnau, ("Baby" and "Embrace") and two entries with Empire of the Sun, ("We Are the People", "Walking on a Dream").

The Grates only managed three entries with "Carve Your Name", "Aw Yeah" and "Burn Bridges".

Triple J's Hottest 100 is one of the largest annual music polls in the world. It grows every year, having received 700,000 votes in 2007 and 600,000 votes in 2005.

Answer: New Zealand

New Zealand was represented five times in the countdown with three songs by Flight of the Conchords, ("Hiphopopotamus vs Rhymenoceros", "The Most Beautiful Girl in the Room" and "Business Time") and two songs by Ladyhawke, ("Paris is Burning" and "My Delirium"). "Business Time" and "My Delirium" also made the Top 20.
9. Which Unearthed J Award nominee made it into the countdown?

Answer: Art vs Science

Art vs Science made number 44 with "Flippers".
The John Steel Singers were the winners of the Unearthed J Award but missed out on the Hottest 100, making number 115 with Rainbow Kraut.
City Riots and Harlequin League failed to make an impact on the Top 200.
10. Did any artist receive consecutive entries in the countdown? (Example: number 56 and number 55)

Answer: Yes

Although no artist officially made consecutive entries, Ladyhawke managed it due to her appearance in Pnau's song "Embrace" which was at number 12, just behind her song "My Delirium". In addition to this, there were many artists who were close. Kings of Leon made number one and number three. Birds of Tokyo made number 20 and number 22. Josh Pyke made number 27 and number 29. Vampire Weekend made number 30 and number 32.
