Annabel Croft (b. 1966) is a former British number one professional tennis player. She had one win on the WTA Tour in 1985 and retired in 1988. She has then became a commentator and presented on Eurosport, SkySports and the BBC.

"Annabel Lee" was a poem composed by American author Edgar Allan Poe and was first published in 1849. The poem is narrated by a man who was madly in love and worships Annabel Lee even after her death.

Isabel Allende (b.1942) is a successful Chilean author who has been considered "the world's most widely read Spanish-language a author." Mabel Bell, born Mabel Gardiner Hubbard (1857-1923) was the wife of the inventor of the first practical telephone, Alexander Graham Bell. Mabel had lost her hearing at a very early age and became one of Alexander's pupils at his school for the deaf. They then married in July 1877 and it is believed or a matter of folklore that Alexander Bell undertook experiments in telecommunication to try to restore his wife's hearing.

Lady Annabel Goldsmith (née Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart), formerly Annabel Birley was born in London in 1934. While married to the entrepreneur, Mark Birley from 1954-1975, he founded the famed Mayfair nightclub "Annabel's" in 1963 and named it after his then wife.

It was a member-only nightclub that catered for the elite of society including the Prince of Wales and Annabel Birley also entertained guests that included Ted and Robert Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, Richard Nixon and Muhammad Ali. After divorcing Mark Birley she was married to Sir James Goldsmith from 1978 until his death in 1997.

She has been a mother to six children (three with Birley and 3 with Goldsmith) over a birth span of 25 years. Sadly after different ownership in recent years the nightclub closed in 2018.
6. Grand Slam tennis winner

Mabel Cahill (1863-1905) was born in Kilkenny, Ireland and was the first foreign woman to win a major tennis tournament. She won the Ladies US National Championship in 1891 and 1892. In the same years at the US National Championships she won both the Women's Doubles (1891-2) and Mixed Doubles (1892) titles. Mabel had immigrated to the USA and was residing in New York City at the time of her wins.

She did not defend her titles in 1893.

She is best remembered for her role as Louise "Weezy" Mills Jefferson who was a neighbour of Archie Bunker in the sitcom "All in the Family" (1971-1975) and then in the same role in the spin-off series "The Jeffersons" (1975-1985).

In the 253 episodes over 11 seasons, Isabel Sanford appears in 252 of those episodes.

Isabel Martinez de Peron (b. 1931) and was married to to Juan Peron (1895-1974) from 1961 until his death in 1974. He was the President of Argentina from 1946-1955 and again from 1973-1974. When Juan Peron died, she became the President of Argentina from July 1, 1974 to March 24, 1976, when a military coup took over the government.

She was placed under house arrest for five years before being exiled to Spain in 1981. Isabel Peron is not to be confused with Eva Peron (the second wife of Juan Peron 1946-1952) upon whom the musical "Evita" (1976) is based.

Mabel Normand (1892-1930) was an American silent film actress, director and producer. During her career (1910-1927) she appeared in twelve films with Charlie Chaplin and seventeen with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. During the 1920s she had her own movie studio and production company.
