Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who led the Phils in home runs?

Answer: Pete Incaviglia & Darren Daulton

For "Inky", as he was affectionately known during his playing days, he smashed 24 homers and drove in a career-high 89 runs. His best season home run-wise was his rookie year in 1986 when he blasted 30 for the Texas Rangers.
As for Darren "Dutch" Daulton, he also connected for 24 homers and represented the Phils at the 1993 All-Star Game in Baltimore.
2. Who led the Phils in runs scored?

Answer: Lenny Dykstra

Lenny or 'Nails' as he was affectionately nicknamed not only led the Phillies in runs scored, but the entire Major Leagues with 143.
3. Who led the Phillies in batting average?

Answer: Kevin Stocker

Stocker as a 23-year-old rookie hit .324 in just 70 games at the big league level.
4. Who on the Phils had the nickname of 'Wild Thing'?

Answer: Mitch Williams

Named Wild Thing for his bizzare delivery on the mound, Mitch would go on to set a then-Phils record with 43 saves in 1993. The record would then be broken by Jose Mesa who saved 45 in 2002.
5. Who was the Phillies season leader in strikeouts on the pitching staff?

Answer: Curt Schilling

Schilling went 16-7 and notched 186 strikeouts.
6. Who led the Phils in outfield assists?

Answer: Wes Chamberlain

Despite playing in just 96 games, Wes had 10 assists.
7. What was Lenny Dkystra's uniform number?

Answer: 4

Much like he had with the Mets in his early days, Lenny wore #4 for the 1993 Phillies.
8. How many home runs did Lenny Dykstra hit in the 1993 season?

Answer: 19

Lenny's 19 homers were the most he'd hit in a season as injuries plagued him the remainder of his career, forcing him to retire after the 1996 season.
9. What Phillies player infamously had a 95 miles per hour Randy Johnson fastball, thrown over his head at the 1993 All-Star Game?

Answer: John Kruk

Krukie as he was known to Phils fans got quite a scare when The Big Unit launched an errant fastball over his head. He went on to strike out in an extremely comical fashion to end his at-bat and the inning. Randy would wink at him as he jogged off the field. Kruk would say later that, "After the first pitch, all I wanted to do was live, and I lived so I had a good at-bat."
10. Who surrendered the game-winning home run to Joe Carter to clinch the 1993 Series for the Toronto Blue Jays?

Answer: Mitch Williams

Mitch unfortunately is quite well-known for this home run. The Phillies would win the series 15 years later in 2008.
