Simon Jones' first wicket in the series, proved to be his last as an ill-fated dive at the ball at long on ended up with him damaging the cruciate ligament of his right knee.
2. Ricky Ponting and Matthew hayden shared a record breaking second wicket partnership. How many runs did they make?

Batting together for more than 6 hours to break England's spirit on Day One.

Answer: 127 minutes

Only Butcher with 40 showed any resistance to Australia's relentless attack.
10. What were Glen McGrath's match figures?

Answer: 8-123

McGrath eight wickets were decisive but Matthew Hayden's 197 followed by his 103 in the second innings was the matchwinning (and Man of the Match) performance.
