1. Who was the first player in history to hit a home run from both sides of the plate in the same game?

Answer: Wally Schang

Although the others listed had done it multiple times, and Mantle of the Yankees accomplished this an amazing feat 10 times in his career. Schang in his third season, did it on September 8, 1916, with the Athletics of Philadelphia in the American League.
2. Some pitchers have entered the record books for the wrong reasons. When Babe Ruth exploded for 60 home runs in 1927, Tom Zachary had his name entered for the pitcher who gave up the 60th. Who dished up Roger Maris' 61st home run in 1961?

Answer: Tracy Stallard

Stallard was in his second season with the Red Sox in 1961. Tracy gave up 15 in the season, but none more famous than that pitch on October 1st. Cleveland's Jim Perry allowed three of Maris' home runs in the season, all in different games.
3. Pete Rose took a shot at Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak. Pete's streak was halted at 44 by which team?

Answer: Atlanta Braves

Rose went hitless on July 31, 1978, when the Braves and Phil Niekro put the brakes on Pete. The Reds did win the game however, 3-2.

Answer: Nolan Ryan

Both Grove and Koufax did this twice in their career, but each for the same team. Ryan first did it in 1968 with the Mets. His historical second time came on July 9, 1972, as a California Angel.

Answer: Oakland Athletics

The Indians gave up the most steals with 15 in the season. Henderson played for the Athletics in 1982. Rickey was also caught 42 times.

Answer: Joe McGinnity

Not only was McGinnity the only one in the 20th century, but he did it all in the same season in 1903, and all in the same month of August. History was made when he threw three doubleheader complete game victories for the New York Giants. He retired after 10 seasons with a 246-142 record.
8. Who became the first player in history to play an 154-game season, and never hit into a double-play?

Answer: Augie Galan

Galan was a Chicago Cub in 1935 when he performed this feat. The outfielder batted .314 in the season. He went to three World Series, but came up empty-handed each time.
9. Which of the following set a rookie record for hitting safely in 34 consecutive games?

Answer: Benito Santiago

Playing in only 17 games in his first season in 1986, the catcher did not play in enough games to qualify for rookie records. In 1987, he won the NL Rookie of the Year award, in part for his a 34-game hitting streak. 2005 saw him in his 20th season, that one as a Pittsburgh Pirate.
10. I did the unthinkable and stole home twice in one game becoming the first player ever to do this. Who am I?

Answer: Honus Wagner

Wagner came from the defunct Louisville Colonels to the Pirates in 1900. He led the National League with his 49 thefts in 1901 when he stole home twice.
