Boxer's Nicknames: Part 1 Trivia Quiz

"Iron" Mike Tyson was the youngest boxer to become Heavyweight Champion of the World. He is also known for ear biting.

Felix "Tito" Trinidad is the humble welterweight champion from Puerto Rico. He gave boxing two of the most awesome victories when he defeated Fernando Vargas and Oscar De La Hoya.

Answer: The Golden Boy

"The Golden Boy" Oscar De La Hoya. The first time I saw De La Hoya was in 1996 when he defeated a true mexican champion, Julio Cesar Chavez. De La Hoya had Chavez bleeding so bad in that fight that the fight had to be stopped in the 4th round.

Hector "Macho" Camacho is not one of my favorite boxers, but he puts on a good show. I'm not much of a fan of his son either, Hector Camacho Jr. I was so thrilled when De La Hoya defeated Camacho Sr., back in 1997.

Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield always gives his praise to Jesus after every fight. Evander gave boxing a tremendous upset when he defeated Mike Tyson the first time they fought, an 11th round knock out, I loved it! We all know what happened the second time these two guys got in the ring..."chomp"!

Acelino "PoPo" Frietas is an excellent fighter from Brazil. He has an outstanding record and is a knock out artist! He got his nickname from his mother when he was just a baby, and it has stuck all these years.

Answer: El Diablo

Angel "El Diablo" Manfreddy used to enter the ring with a devil's mask on his face. Of course we all know that "El Diablo" is spanish for The Devil. But these past few years he says that he has found Christ and had dropped the nickname and mask bit.

Answer: Thunder

Arturo "Thunder" Gatti lives up to his nickname! He hits with thunderous power! He enters the ring a pretty boy, but he leaves with his face swollen and bloody. He is a warrior, but his face is easily cut. My two favorite fights of his were the two battles he had with "Irish" Micky Ward.

These two guys gave thier heart and soul in these two fights. Ward won the first fight, Gatti won the rematch.

"Sugar" Shane Mosely, I remember watching him win his first championship fight on HBO back in 1997. Then he amazed me again when he defeated Oscar De La Hoya. In my opinion, Mosely tries sometimes to act too tough. It's hard to be a bully when you're such a nice guy and smiling all the time, which is what "Sugar" Shane does so much of...just not in the ring!

Answer: Terrible

Erik "Terrible" Morales is another great mexican champion. Him and boxing rival, Marco Antonio Barrera have an on going rivalry between each other. When these two hard hitting mexican champs fight each other, they will stop at nothing, too much pride! They are worth watching!
