Answer: Swindon Robins

The Robins were top of the final league table, but lost 95-90 in the playoff final.
2. Which of these riders finished the year with the highest average at the end of the season ?

Answer: Freddie Lindgren

Freddie Lindgren finished the year on a hugely impressive 10.43, compared to 10 for Leigh Adams, 9.15 for Matej Zagar, and Hans Andersen. Jason Crump averaged 10.89, but as he didn't complete the required 12 meetings for a new average. His previous average of 11.07 was still effective.
3. Which rider improved their average by the most in 2009?

Answer: Ben Barker

Ben Barker increased his average by 2.81, from 4.02 to 6.83.
4. Which rider decreased their average by the most in 2009?

Answer: Charlie Gjedde

Charlie Gjedde had a nightmare of a season, dropping his average from 7.86 to 5.27. The other three mentioned riders also dropped their averages.

Answer: Wolverhampton Wolves

The Wolverhampton Wolves dropped only one point at home all season, in a narrow 47-43 victory over the Swindon Robins in their last home meeting of the regular season. Swindon only lost once, to the Lakeside Hammers, where Matej Zagar was forced to withdraw part way through the meeting.

The Lakeside Hammers lost one regular home meeting, to the Wolverhampton Wolves, and the Coventry Bees lost twice on their home track, both to the Swindon Robins.

Answer: Leigh Adams

Leigh Adams was left with the unfavourable inside gate for the final, but he hit the front, and Holder and Harris behind him were too busy racing each other allowing Adams to win comfortably. Freddie Lindgren, who topped the final averages, retired with bike problems in the final.
7. Who was the only team not to field a British rider in their 2009 line-up?

Answer: Peterborough Panthers

Peterborough's team was composed mainly of Danish Riders. The Swindon Robins fielded Simon Stead, whilst Joe Screen rode for the Poole Pirates, and the Lakeside Hammers tracked Lee Richardson.

Answer: Lee Richardson

Lee Richardson finished the season on 8.56. Chris Harris was just behind on 8.54, whilst Scott Nicholls' average dropped to 8.29. Tai Woffinden's Elite League campaign debut put him 5th on the list with an average of 7.47.
9. Which rider won the British Final held at Poole's Wimborne Road Stadium?

Answer: Chris Harris

Lee Richardson finished the qualification rounds in the lead, but didn't make a good gate in the final and came home last. Edward Kennett and Tai Woffinden squabbled for second place, and a wildcard at the British SGP, with Kennett coming out on top.

The original line-up consisted of Leigh Adams, Travis McGowan, Jurica Pavlic, Troy Batchelor, Simon Stead, Krzysztof Stojanowski, with Ryan Fisher and Cory Gathercole doubling up. Richard Sweetman, the original no. 8, rode 4 meetings. Stojanowski was replaced by Paul Hurry, Troy Batchelor was replaced by Matej Zagar, whilst Morten Risager later replaced Jurica Pavlic. Mark Lemon assumed the second doubling up spot whilst Cory Gathercole assumed the number 8 position.
