Imperial Commander had won the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham festival the previous year and beat former Gold Cup winner Denman by 7 lengths in the 2010 Gold Cup. He was ridden by Paddy Brennan and trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies.
2. 2011

Answer: Long Run

Long Run won the race as a 6 year old, the youngest Gold Cup winner for several decades. He was trained by Nicky Henderson and ridden by amateur jockey Sam Waley-Cohen.
3. 2012

Answer: Synchronised

Former Welsh National winner Synchronised beat The Giant Bolster and the previous winner Long Run into 2nd and 3rd. Champion jockey AP McCoy picked up his second Gold Cup win and Jonjo O'Neill won for the first time as a trainer having won the race as a jockey twice himself.

Answer: Bobs Worth

Bobs Worth won by 7 lengths over Sir Des Champs, giving both jockey Barry Geraghty and trainer Nicky Henderson their second Gold Cup wins.
