A bunted ball that goes foul, when the batter has 2 strikes is an out.
2. We were one of the original American League teams in 1901. We never changed our name throughout the entire 20th century. We won 5 American League pennants in the century, and won 2 World Series. One of our World Series went down in history, but for negative reasons. Some of the greats that wore our uniform included, Patsy Dougherty, Eddie Cicotte, Luke Appling, and Luis Aparicio. What team am I?

Answer: Chicago White Sox

The other teams listed, did not carry their name the entire 20th century. The White Sox won the first American League crown in the league's first year in 1901. The first World Series did not play until 1903. Their first taste of the Series was in 1906, when they defeated the heavily favored Cubs, 4 games to 2. 1919 was the negative in the White Sox history.

This was the year of the 'Black Sox Scandal', which included Chicago players such as Cicotte, Joe Jackson, and others, who rigged the World Series against the Reds of Cincinnati.

The Reds won the Series 5 games to 3.
3. What pitcher was the first in history to win 2 Cy Young Awards?

Answer: Sandy Koufax

The others retired before the first Cy Young Award was presented in 1956. The inaugural winner was the Dodgers' Don Newcombe. Koufax won his first in 1963, then consecutive awards in 1965 and 1966. He retired in 1966. The 2nd pitcher to win 2 awards was Denny McLain of the Tigers in 1968 and 1969.
4. What team did Willie Mays retire with?

Answer: New York Mets

Willie spent 20 seasons with the Giants, before moving to the Mets in the 1972 mid-season. He retired in 1973, hitting his last 14 of 660 career home runs.
5. Who was the only player with the last name starting with an "E", that played in the 20th century, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame?

Answer: Johnny Evers

Nicknamed 'Crab', Evers was a part of the famous double-play combination of 'Tinkers to Evers to Chance'. This combination was the project of the early Chicago Cubs. Evers played from 1902-1929. Johnny won the National League MVP in his first season with the Boston Braves in 1914.
6. What 2002 American League team, had the best record in the regular season?

Answer: Yankees

The Yankees played only 161 games in the season, and finished with a record of 103-58 (.640). The Athletics also won 103 games, went the full 162 game season, and lost 59 games (.636). The Red Sox won 93, the Angels 99, and Chicago 81.
7. What Pittsburgh Pirate, hit a bottom of the ninth inning home run, to win the 1960 World Series for the Pirates?

Answer: Bill Mazeroski

The others listed were all 1960 Yankees. The Pirates won the Series 4 games to 3. Although Mazeroski, their 2nd baseman, topped off the Series for the Pirates, the Yankees' 2nd baseman Bobby Richardson was the Series MVP. Yankees' pitcher Bill Terry, gave up the winning shot.
8. Which of the following, never struck out 300 batters in a season?

Answer: Roger Clemens

Roger peaked at 292 while pitching for the Blue Jays in 1997. The others speak for themselves, as Koufax set a record with 382, then Ryan topped that with a 383 mark. Johnson once struck out 372 in 2001.
9. What team did Joe DiMaggio retire with?

Answer: New York Yankees

The other teams did not exist when Joe retired. DiMaggio spent all his 13 seasons with the Yankees. He won 3 season MVP's, and went to 10 World Series with the Yankees, winning 9 of them.
10. What manager led the 1985 Kansas City Royals, to their first World Series crown?

Answer: Dick Howser

The others never managed. Howser, who took the 1978 Yankees to the World Series, won his 2nd crown in 1985 with the Royals. Dick managed for 8 seasons, after playing for 8 seasons himself, died in 1987.
