Answer: Barry Bonds

The other listed were in the American League. Bonds with the Giants, batted .370 and led the Major Leagues. Manny Ramirez hit .349 to lead the American League.
2. Jason Jennings of the Colorado Rockies, was in his 2nd full season in the Majors in the 2003 season. What year did he win the Rookie of the Year Award?

Answer: 2002

Born in Dallas, Texas, Jennings was 16-8 and took the honors in the National League. Eric Hinke of the Blue Jays won the award in 2002 for the American League.

Answer: Milwaukee Brewers

None of the other teams existed in 1901. The Brewers, additions to the new American League in 1901, became the St.Louis Browns the following season in 1902, until the the 1954 season. In 1954, the Baltimore Orioles appeared as the new name in their franchise.

In 1901, their was a Baltimore Orioles team, that changed its name to the New York Highlanders, then became the infamous Yankees in 1913.

His next game in the Majors was 8 years later in 1952 in a Reds' uniform. He appeared in 37 games that season, and was 1-4. He retired in 1966.

The fellow Giant who took the headlines over McCovey, was the 'Say Hey Kid', Willie Mays.

The Rockies did not exist for more than 30 years when Stargell was a rookie, and started their franchise in 1993. "Pops" as he was nicknamed, played his entire career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, from 1962-1982. This Hall of Famer died in April of 2001. He and Roberto Clemente will always be known as 'Mr. Pirate'.
