5. Which of the following, only had one team name throughout their first 100 franchise years in Major League baseball?

Answer: Chicago White Sox

All the franchises listed began in the Majors in 1901, but the White Sox were the only team to not change names. The Yankees did not begin the Yankee name until 1913 after two name changes of the New York Highlanders and the Baltimore Orioles. Boston took on three names before becoming the Red Sox in 1907.

The Athletics franchise had been the Philadelphia A's for 54 years before becoming the Kansas City A's in 1955, and then moving to Oakland in 1958.
6. Which of the following career Cincinnati Reds was the first to hit 500 career home runs?

8. Which professional baseball league tried to compete on the same level as the American and National League in the 20th century?

Answer: Federal League

The others were all defunct by 1890. After the emergence of the American League in 1901, the Federal League tried to make a run at it in 1914. The league folded after their 1915 season. The league consisted of the Chicago Whales and St. Louis Terriers, who shared the championship in 1915, to the Pittsburgh Rebels, Kansas City Packers, Newark Pepper, Buffalo Blues, Brooklyn Tip-Tops, and Buffalo Terrapins. Former American League Yankee Hal Chase, led the league for Buffalo with 17 home runs. He never hit more than five in the Major Leagues.
9. Which of the following were not Major League baseball brothers?

Answer: Paul and Jack Martinez

The others were famous and well known brothers from the 1960s and 1970s. Matty Alou was another brother to Jesus and Felipe.
10. How many World Series appearances did the 2003 Houston Astros franchise make in the 20th century?

Answer: 0

With their franchise starting up in 1962 as the Houston Colt .45s, then changing their name to the Astros in 1965, they never made it to the promised land. Unfortunately, they never made it past being a Division winner of six times in the century.
