1. Against which team did Stewart score his first test century?

Answer: Sri Lanka

Stewart scored 113* in the only test against Sri Lanka in August 1991. He batted for 308 minutes, until he ran out of partners, and England reached the total of 282 all out. They won the test by 137 runs. Stewart was the second English player to score a century against Sri Lanka in a test match. The first was Allan Lamb.
2. The sixth test against Australia in 1993 was a memorable match for Alec Stewart for which of these reasons?

Stewart scored 76 in the first innings, and 35 in the second, batting for a total of 257 minutes. In the first Australian innings he took four catches and in the second he took two. England won the match by 161 runs.

Stewart made his highest ODI score in against India in the first match of the Akai-Singer Champions Trophy in December 1997. He batted for 156 minutes and faced 111 balls. He received the Man of the Match award for his part in England's 7 run victory.

Sri Lanka set England the task of scoring 205 to win the match. Stewart and Hussain put on 50 for the first wicket, before Hussein was dismissed for 14. Stewart went on to score 88, supported by Hick scoring 73. In the Sri Lankan innings Stewart had taken three catches, so he deserved the Man of the Match award for this memorable game.
