Jeff Carter did play in 81 games, but missed one due to an ear injury. As a result of the injuries, 12 rookies debuted for the Flyers in 2005-06.

After a long drought, Forsberg finally finished off his first goal, a game-tying goal with 50 seconds left in regulation, in a game the Flyers eventually won in overtime.

Due to the vast amount of injuries, many of the Calder Cup winning members of the AHL affiliate, the Phantoms, were thrown into the NHL ranks, leading to the total of 34 players.
