1. Everyone already knew that Lebron James, Darko Milicic and Carmelo Anthony would be the one, two and three picks respectively. So who went fourth?

Answer: Chris Bosh

Toronto had the fourth pick, and used it to select Chris Bosh, who was a freshman forward from Georgia Tech. There were many rumors that Toronto might trade the pick, but in the end they decided to go with Bosh.

2. How many high schoolers were taken in the first round?

Answer: 4

Lebron James was the second high schooler ever to go number one overall in an NBA draft, as Kwame Brown also achieved this feat in the 2001 draft. The other three high schoolers were Travis Outlaw, who went to Portland with the 23rd pick, Ndudi Ebi who went to Minnesota at 26, and Kendrick Perkins drafted by Memphis, then immediately traded to Boston, at the 27th pick.

3. The 2003 draft had a big international showing for the second straight year. Which of these international players were not selected in the first round?

Answer: Andreas Gliniadakis

Gliniadakis from Greece, was the last overall pick, going number 58th overall to Detroit. Cabarkapa from Serbia and Montenegro, was 17th overall to Phoenix. Barbosa from Brazil, was 28th overall to San Antonio, then immediately traded to Phoenix. And Planinic from Croatia, was 22th overall to New Jersey.

There were a total of eight international players selected in the first round, and 20 overall.

4. Who did the Los Angeles Lakers select with their first round pick?

Answer: Brian Cook

Brian Cook was their 24th overall pick in the first round, and Luke Walton was their 32nd overall pick in the second round. Most critics thought that the Lakers had a good draft, but only time will tell.

5. How many of the 2003 NCAA champion Syracuse Orangemen, were drafted in 2003?

Answer: 1

Carmelo Anthony was the sole Orangeman. Most of his Syracuse teammates decided to stay in school for another year, as they were almost all underclassmen.

6. Who did the Seattle Supersonics take with their 14th overall selection?

Answer: Luke Ridnour

Ridnour, a junior from Oregon was the 14th overall pick. Nick Collison, a senior from Kansas, was chosen with Seattle's first pick, going number 12 overall.

7. Only one team did not have a pick in the 2003 NBA draft, who was it?

Answer: Sacramento Kings

The Kings traded away both of their picks before the draft. The Spurs had only one pick and traded it away, but not until after they used it to pick someone. The 76ers and the Pacers didn't have first round selections.

Answer: Maciej Lampe

Lampe lasted until the 30th pick, which was much later than most people predicted. He was sitting alone in the "green room" for at least ten picks. Other, mainly international, players also showed up to the draft and shook hands with the commissioner after they were picked, but they weren't specifically invited. Lampe went to the Knicks.

Many Knicks fans wanted Lampe to be chosen with the Knick's ninth overall pick, so getting him at 30 instead was a huge steal.

9. Who did the Milwaukee Bucks choose with the eighth overall pick, prompting many rumors about their point guard situation?

Answer: Ford

T.J. Ford, who was a sophomore out of Texas. At the time, the Bucks had Gary Payton and Sam Cassell at their point guard position, and this caused many people to think that Gary, a free agent, wouldn't be coming back. Instead, Cassell was traded, and now Ford will probably backup Payton during his rookie season.

Answer: Ndudi Ebi

Ndudi Ebi, was out of Westbury Christian High School. Ebi was very young and very raw, and will definitely take at least a few years to develop, but the Timberwolves have had success with high schoolers in the past.
