Their franchise began in 1933 with a 3-5-1 record. The Eagles were shutout three times by the New York Giants, Portsmouth Spartans, and Green Bay Packers.
2. Which year did the franchise have their first winning season?

Answer: 1944

Starting up in 1933, it took 12 seasons to be in the plus side. In 1944, they went 7-1-2 under the helm of Greasy Neale, losing only to the Chicago Bears. The Giants were NFL champions in the season.
3. Who was the team's first 1000-yard running back in a season?

Answer: Steve VanBuren

The others were all Eagles, but none had reached the 1000-yard season mark ever. VanBuren did it twice in his career, the first being in 1947 with 217 attempts for 1008 yards, averaging 4.6 per carry with 13 touchdowns. The Eagles went 8-4 in the season.

The other Eagles listed, never reached 3600 passing yards in a season ever. Sonny played for the Eagles from 1957-1963. In 1961, he connected for 3723 yards. Snead's career high in an Eagle uniform was 3399 in 1967. Gabriel's career high was with the Eagles in 1973 with 3219 passing yards. Jaws threw for 3529 yards in 1980, his career high also.
