The episode opened up, with a party, and Toby came in to inform everyone that they were to put their glasses of champagne down and could not drink it. Toby went on to discuss how Supreme Court Justice nominees be confirmed by a simply majority in the U.S. Senate. Toby asked someone to give him a figure, of a simple majority, and someone told him they needed fifty one to confirm a nominee. Toby then told the party guests that nobody would swallow a drop of champagne until the judge was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In Josh and Donna's first scene together, Donna went to speak to Josh and Josh told her about a note that was left to him. He asked her to help him decipher the handwriting since he thought it said he had to speak to Mandy about a banana bar. Donna managed to make out the writing, which said "panda bear." Josh spoke to Mandy and asked her what she needed.

Donna and Josh made it to the room where the guests were throwing a party on the eve of a new U.S. Supreme Court Justice. When Donna and Josh got there, Josh asked her to go get Leo so he could celebrate with them, when their U.S. Supreme Court Justice was confirmed, and she went and got Leo. Leo got to the party and they were watching the U.S. Senators vote on the Supreme Court Justice's confirmation.

They eventually got to 51 votes and there was a new Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

When Donna got to Leo's office, she saw he was on the phone and arguing with the person on the other line. Right before Leo ended his phone call, he told the person on the other end that he did not want to fight with the Senate Judiciary Committee. Leo told Donna that the person, on the other hand, told him that some members, on the committee, were hesitant on The White House's nominee for Assistant Attorney General.

Sam had become smitten with a new woman, in his life, named Mallory O'Brien and she reminded him that she was the daughter of his boss, Leo McGarry. For the times that Sam and Mallory were together, as friends, they usually went to the opera and enjoyed their time there.

However, they never were an item. Allison Smith originated the role of Mallory O'Brien on "The West Wing." She also guest starred on the TV shows, "House M.D.", "Without a Trace", and "ER."

Everyone was waiting for C.J. to do her routine that she was most famous for and it was called "The Jackal." C.J.'s routine saw her act hip and sing to the more modern day tunes and threw in some comedy. C.J. did her routine of "The Jackal", for a couple of minutes at the party, and she ended it amongst applause.

Right after C.J. got done entertaining the guests, at the party, Sam was seen talking to Leo. He told Leo that his daughter, Mallory, managed to get a hold of a paper he had written on school vouchers. Mallory expressed displeasure, with Sam's paper, and Sam wanted to discuss it with Leo. Leo simply told him to work harder, on his ideas, since Mallory, as a school teacher, was passionate on school vouchers.

There was a report that The White House got of a drug bust at the club where Zoey attended. C.J. discussed the bust, with her aide, and it was revealed that Zoey did not possess drugs since she managed to leave the club before drugs were issued. The aide mentioned that President Bartlet did not know about this drug bust, yet.

Gina Toscano was the name of the Secret Service agent assigned to protect Zoey. In her first scene, in this episode, she was seen at the dining hall, where Zoey was talking to her friends about their French class, and she told Zoey they were leaving and going out the back way. Gina had just been informed of a security problem so she decided to take Zoey back to The White House through a different route than usual. Jorja Fox originated the role of Gina Toscano on "The West Wing." She appeared in a total of five episodes.

Charlie went to go speak to C.J. since he was informed, by Zoey, that she ran into a reporter by the name of Mr. Drumm, who wrote for "The Charleston Citizen." C.J. informed Charlie that Drumm was not a reporter but rather a "Bartlet baiter" and she asked Charlie that Mr. Drumm asked Zoey. Charlie replied that Mr. Drumm asked Zoey why she partied with drug dealers. C.J. promised Charlie she would try to get Mr. Drumm's story, on Zoey being at the club where a drug bust occurred, nipped in the bud.
