1. This episode began on which day of the week?

Answer: Monday

When the episode began, there was a note that said "Monday" so this indicated the events that transpired, in this episode, began on a Monday. In the first scene, President Bartlet was giving a speech at a dinner in regards to upcoming legislation. He commented that you had to writer a letter, send a fax, call Western Union, and write your members of Congress in support of the legislation.

In the middle of the speech, Leo got a phone call.

Answer: Josh Lyman

Leo was talking to someone, on the phone, and the person hinted that there were some members of Congress who were balking at a piece of legislation that President Bartlet was proposing. Leo asked what happened and when the wheels started to come off and he became frustrated. Once he got off the phone, he informed Josh they lost five votes on the legislation President Bartlet was speaking about in the opening scene.
3. Toby told who that he felt President Bartlet "blew" the D section?

Answer: Sam Seaborn

After President Bartlet ended his speech and thanked America and everyone who came, Toby and Sam were seen discussing the speech. Sam commented that he felt President Bartlet did a tremendous job but Toby was worried that President Bartlet got a little too emotional and "blew" the D section. Sam reminded him that people were cheering so the general consensus was the speech was good.
4. C.J. asked who if he felt she had a long neck?

Answer: Josh Lyman

C.J. was inspired by President Bartlet's speech and she stated that whoever wrote the speech for President Bartlet did a great job. C.J. was walking down the stairs with Toby, Josh, and Sam and she asked Josh if he felt her neck was long. Josh asked her why she would ask that question and she stated someone looked at her funny. Josh mentioned, to C.J., that they had lost five votes on the legislation that President Bartlet spoke of that evening.

President Bartlet appeared amongst his staff (C.J., Toby, Josh, and Leo) and he was asking them all what they thought. Toby gave his opinion and then Charlie joined the crowd so President Bartlet asked Charlie what he thought. Charlie mentioned that he felt it was "excellent" so President Bartlet was pleased to hear that his speech came off as a success. President Bartlet commented that Charlie probably felt the singer outdistanced the song that was sung.

The opening credits were rolling and C.J., Toby, and Mandy were seen, eating some dumplings, and Sam came in to say hello to them. C.J. recommended, to Sam, that he try some chicken from General Cho.

The entire episode revolved around a bill, H.R. 802, that The White House was trying to pass and it dealt with gun control. Apparently, five members who said they would back it changed their mind since they felt it was weak legislation. In one scene, Leo was commenting on how they wanted to pass a bill on a Wednesday so that meant they had three days to get enough votes for passage.

Answer: Leo McGarry

Leo was seen, dealing with marital problems, throughout this episode and it was over him working long hours and his wife not being pleased. Leo informed his wife they were five votes short, on H.R. 802, and she asked him what he could do at 2 a.m. that he could not do during normal business hours. Leo commented that he could wake people up and meet with key staff members and his wife interrupted him to tell him to come to bed. Leo and his wife divorced shortly after this episode.
9. Toby stated he was a novice when it came to stocks.

Answer: True

Toby met with his economic adviser since he wanted to see how his stocks were doing and he mentioned, to her, that he was a novice and did not necessarily understand all the advice she gave. She asked Toby what made him purchase stock and he said he liked the company in which he had stock. It was mentioned that Toby had $5,000 worth of stock in the company.
10. Who portrayed Congressman Christopher Wick in this episode?

Answer: Jay Underwood

Underwood, born on October 1st, 1968 in Minneapolis, Minnesota played Congressman Christopher Wick in this episode of "The West Wing." In this episode, Congressman Wick was one of the five who backed out of supporting the gun control bill. This was the only episode of the series in which Underwood guest starred. Underwood has also had guest starring stints on the TV series', "ER", "The X Files", and "Murder, She Wrote."
