In the opening scenes, all of the apartment tenants were at Michael and Jane's apartment and they were playing poker. Rhonda was losing money so she asked if she could make an IOU but they declined her offer. She offered two tickets to a dance competition, in lieu of paying up money, but nobody wanted to take her up on that offer.

Allison was in her apartment and she heard a knock at her door, and she went to answer it and it was Jake. He said he would give her the money she won from him, at poker, that night if she went to his apartment. Allison said she would stop by Jake's apartment to collect the money she won from the poker game. After Jake left, Allison went to work at D&D Advertising.

Matt took Rhonda to meet her high school friend and they all agreed to go have dinner together. When they got to dinner, Rhonda told Matt that her friend was really the only one who put up with her, in high school. Rhonda's friend started to talk about her success and how she credited Rhonda with being where she was at that moment in her life.

Near the beginning of the episode, Allison was seen helping Jake study for the GED since he wanted to earn it so he could have a better chance of getting a good job. He had mentioned to her, shortly before this, that he really wanted to get his GED. In his first scenes of studying, Jake asked Allison to help him with the math section so she tested him on geometry. Jake eventually passed the test to get the GED.

Rhonda decided that she wanted to go into dancing since it was a lifelong dream of hers so she went to a dance studio to learn some moves. Rhonda continued to progress, on her dancing, and she started to find success in the industry. At the end of season one, Rhonda became engaged and we learned that she continued to pursue dancing after she left the show.

If you look at the opening credits, it will show that Darren Star was credited for penning this episode of "Melrose Place." Star created "Melrose Place" as well as "Beverly Hills 90210." Star also wrote episodes for the TV series, "Central Park West."

Allison had just woken up and Billy was awake and he told Allison he made her some coffee. He asked Allison if she wanted to go to the beach, since it was the weekend, and Allison told him she had to spend the day with Jake. The first state she asked him to name the capital of was Washington and Jake correctly answered that it was Olympia. Allison, next, asked Jake to name the capital of Alaska and Jake said Juneau. Allison told Jake she was impressed with how well he knew state capitals.
