1. Why does Sipowicz pose as an elderly man in a wheelchair?

Answer: To catch thieves that steal money after elderly people cash their monthly checks

Though Sipowicz is busy looking for Danny's killers and other murders, Medavoy and Baldwin are running a case of a thief that targets the elderly. Reluctantly, Sipowicz poses as an elderly man. Sipowicz does not pose as an elderly man in a wheelchair to solve Danny's murder, nor does he to protect John or to let Gibson's niece down easily. Sipowicz is pushed in his wheelchair by Medavoy while Baldwin watches in street clothes. They easily catch and chase and overpower the thieves despite being held at gunpoint initially by the thieves.

Dalto is the first choice to replace Fancy. She is abrasive and ball-busting to nearly every person in the precinct. John the PAA explains to the precinct that due to her manner, she had earned the nickname "The Winemaker" for her ability to stomp on grapes. John explains the nickname is metaphorical. Gibson briefly becomes leader of the squad in later seasons. Rodriguez would take over for Dalto who is quickly re-assigned after Fancy intervenes. Rodriguez is not the true successor to Fancy, as Dalto had the job first before she is disgracefully re-routed. Her overbearing leadership made too many enemies in the 15th Precinct. Dalto was played effectively by actress Denise Crosby. She is the granddaughter of Bing Crosby.

Kelly (David Caruso) was forced out because of his defense of Officer Janice Licalsi, who killed mobster Angelo Marino and his chauffeur. He lied to protect her. Actually David Caruso left "NYPD Blue" to attempt a career in films. Word is, the cast and crew were happy to see him leave, as he was supposedly very difficult to work with, even going so far as to throw a trash can at Dennis Franz' head. Not to take away from Caruso's work; he did a fine job as Detective Kelly.

After her future undercover assignments, she must confront her alcoholism as she starts bringing vodka to work and being dishonest to Bobby, Andy and the entire 15th precinct. Undercover operations are important at this precinct. They add to the stress. However this undercover operation to stop the arson is their first opportunity to work together. They start dating soon after.

Diane runs into the doctor while working a case. She and he had had friendly interactions of hope and positivity when Bobby was first admitted to the hospital. Once Bobby dies, Diane mourns for s while. When her partner Jill is compromised, Diane kisses Denby to get information on Jill's ex-husband and their drug smuggling ventures. Diane then scorns and rebukes Denby and ultimately shoots Denby to death in a hostage standoff. Diane dates Danny before the doctor. Diane has dealings with Bobby's former attorney and also relatives and the former tenant but dates Bobby's former doctor.

Diane Russell wasn't over Bobby's death at all, and felt that she was betraying Bobby's memory by having a romance with Danny. After a few nights together, they decided to be "just friends". Although Danny put on a good face for Diane, he was actually distraught over the breakup. (Diane did date Bobby's former doctor, but that was later on.)

Lieutenant presides over dozens of undercover operations. He himself never goes undercover. He is promoted to captain after many years of superb service at the 15th Precinct. The false answers all occur in the show's history. In season 11, Clark and Sipowicz investigate a man who has converted to Islam. He is played by Sam Jaeger, best known for his character Joel Graham on the "Parenthood" TV series. On the episode where they investigate Black Power militants and the jewelry store hate crime, an undercover operation to take down the cel is considered but the Feds and other interfere and the operation is never given the go-ahead. Baldwin, played by Henry Simmons, later gets involved in a custody dispute. Not Fancy. Several episodes before Sorenson is murdered, he spies on Diane by the cover of night. While not technically undercover, Sorenson was indeed stalking her undercover. He quickly stops this behavior after self-reporting himself to Sipowicz. Sorenson takes accountability and when Diane leaves the squad, his infatuation switches to the stripper Kristen and a complex undercover operation he's working at TailFeathers. Lieutenant Fancy and Lieutant Rodriguez are the two most undercover-friendly lieutenants on the show. Fancy prefers a much more hands-off approach and to be clear, he never wears a wire or is the point man for any undercover operation. He certainly directs and presides over many.

Donna was a huge Rangers fan. She was a season ticket holder and proudly adorned her work area with a Rangers pennant. Greg and Donna start dating after they go ice skating together. Hockey and ice skating and things they have in common. Donna also used to date a hockey player that used to be on the Rangers. She never mentions her affinity for any other sports teams.

Kanakaredes would go on to star in "Providence" and "CSI: NY". Brenneman played a murderous cop in season 1 and season 2 of "NYPD Blue" and her character was never a journalist or a reporter. Stringfield did not play a reporter or journalist; she played a lawyer. Turco portrayed a cop and never played a reporter or journalist. Benita is never mentioned again after Bobby cuts ties with her.

Jill made the huge mistake of trying to protect Don Kirkendall. By the time she realized she was in way over her head, Don had kidnapped one of their kids and was threatening to kill him. Diane stuck her neck way out for Jill, trying to help her. This even included kissing slimy ex-cop Harry Denby, who was Don's partner in crime. By the time the police got their hands on Don Kirkendall, it was too late for Jill. She had to take her boys and make a run for it, or probably would have ended up in jail herself for helping him. So Jill is "in the wind."

The other two wrong answers occur but in later seasons.

Licalsi murders two mafiosos but never shoots at a police lieutenant. Jimmy Mayo kills Costas accidentally when the bullets were meant for Cullanan.

Jill originally got cozy with ADA Leo Cohen to get information. But she came to like him, even though he could be an annoying smart aleck. Jill and Leo didn't last very long, and then Jill went on to become entangled in her ex-husband's dirty business, which eventually forced her to run away.

Danny continued to date Kristen, the stripper. He went to the club for lunch to meet her; at that time, Joey Schulman, the club manager, asked Danny to run a check on someone. Sorenson proceeded to tell his boss, Lieutenant Rodriguez, about the conversation. The lieutenant gave Danny the okay to run the check, keeping it confidential from everyone, including Danny's partner, Andy Sipowicz. Late that night, Andy received word that Sorenson was at the strip club, drunk and fighting with an obsessed fan of Kristen. Andy was furious, afraid that Danny would lose his job. He took Danny home and got him sobered up. They talked things out and parted on good terms. It would be the last time Andy saw Danny alive.
