The culprit was Jason Sheffield and he aimed at Michael Delaney since he thought Michael influenced his brother, Kevin, into being gay. Janet was arrested but acquitted when Jason confessed, at Janet's trial, that he killed Laurel but aimed for Michael. Jason was sent to prison.

Noah and Julia went on the run since Noah was found guilty of murdering Louie Grecco. On Noah's bus ride to the state prison, the bus crashed and Noah fled. He ran into Julia and both of them made way for a boat. At one point, they escaped from the boat and that was where they wound up on the island country of Jamaica.

While they were in Jamaica, they were aided by a voodoo woman named Corrine.

Erica returned to Pine Valley after she completed her drug rehab at The Betty Ford Center. Jonathan went over to see Erica, one day, and she told him she could no longer see him. Erica stated she wanted to be with Dimitri and not him.

Taylor confessed that Noah killed Louie in self defense and that she had Louie's gun that proved Noah's innocence. The police overheard Taylor's confession and arrested her. She was tried, convicted, and sentenced to prison. Noah and Julia were now free to get married and they tied the knot the following month.

It was at Noah and Julia's wedding that Tad and Joe went up to Kelsey and tried to get her to leave town. They told her she caused enough trouble in town and that she should make a new start. Both of them drew up plans to get Kelsey to move to Oregon but Kelsey refused.

It was in July of 1996 that a recast Ruth began to air on the show and that Lee Meriwether was the new actress to portray Ruth. Meriwether, years ago, won the Miss America pageant and she played Catwoman in the 1966 film, "Batman."

Skye was in town for many months but she went by the name of Toni Kinder and her husband, Dr. Jonathan Kinder, held her captive for a long time. Toni/Skye broke free of him with the help of Erica Kane and Janet Green. Adam reunited with Skye and they tried to be father and daughter again (Prior to Skye returning in 1996, she and Adam were not on good terms).

In the early 2000s, it was revealed that Adam was not Skye's biological father. At one point, Skye was thought to be Dr. Alan Quartermaine's biological child (Alan was a character on "General Hospital") but it was later revealed that Alan adopted Skye.

To get revenge on Erica, Jonathan Kinder kidnapped Bianca but Janet and Erica found out where Jonathan held Bianca. In a struggle, Bianca pushed Jonathan down the stairs and it looked as if Jonathan had died. Erica and Janet wrapped Jonathan in a rug and buried his body in Erica's back yard.

When Jonathan's "grave" was dug up, they found a rug but no body. About a week after this, Jonathan was revealed to be alive but he was caught by Erica, Janet, Skye, and Marian and he was sent to prison.

Myrtle came upon a new man in town named Red Kilgren. He stayed at her boarding house and told Myrtle he was really Santa Claus! It turned out that Fred, indeed, was Santa and brought a lot of joy for the upcoming Holiday season! For a couple of episodes that aired a little later, the actress who played Myrtle, Eileen Herlie, also played Mrs. Claus.
